Fang Mei: The only daughter of martyr Fang Zhimin, a native of Yiyang, Jiangxi, born in November 1932. When Fang Zhimin died in 1935, Fang Mei was 3 years old, had only met her father twice, enrolled in the Jiangxi Martyrs' Children's School in September 1949, joined the Party in 1962, and retired from the Jiangxi Provincial Port and Navigation Administration in 1986, authoring "The Complete Biography of Fang Zhimin" and "Fang Zhimin and His Relatives".

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and my 59th year in the Communist Party of China. Reliving the party's century-old struggle at this special time node makes me miss my father Fang Zhimin even more.

Reading my father began with my mother Miao Min's legacy "Lovely China" given to my father. The mother wrote on the title page: "Mei'er, this book is your father's last words written with blood and tears in prison, you have to read it repeatedly, study hard, and use practical actions to inherit your father's unfinished career!" ”

At that time, I didn't recognize many words, but my father's love for the motherland had taken root in my mind. It was also then that I began to get to know my father.

In the past, there were often old comrades and fellow villagers from the Soviet Union who visited the family, and their mother talked with them about their father's past. I sat quietly and listened, paying special attention to my father's experience in joining the party.

Before joining the party, my father also experienced one thing: in 1922, in Shanghai, at the invitation of a friend, my father went to the French Concession, and when he arrived at the entrance of a park, he saw a sign that read, "Chinese and dogs are not allowed to enter the park." My father said: "When these words shot into my eyes, my whole body burned hot, and my face burned red. It made me feel a shame I had never felt before! Since then, my father has more firmly embarked on the road of searching for revolutionary truths and exploring ways to save the country and save the people.

In March 1924, my father joined the Communist Party of China, saying: "From now on, everything about me, up to my life, has been handed over to the Party!" "Whether in good times or bad times, he worked diligently for the party and the people until the last moment of his life, his ideals and beliefs never wavered."

Although my father's life was short, his lofty revolutionary faith and strong revolutionary will have influenced me more deeply. In the summer of 1958, I was transferred to the newly established Ruijin University to be responsible for the preparation of the library, from the purchase, classification, listing to lending, I was responsible for it, so I had more opportunities to study my father's works, such as "A Brief Description of My Revolutionary Struggle" and "Poverty Alleviation", which gave me a deeper understanding of my father's deeds. In 1962, I followed in my father's footsteps and gloriously joined the Communist Party of China.

After my mother's death, for a long time, I heard more stories about my father in the stories of my old comrades, and the image of my father became clearer. I came to understand that Communists like my father had spent their whole lives fighting for a "lovely China," but many of them had not been able to see the China of today. A thought came to mind: write a father in the heart of a daughter, establish a legacy for the father, let the history of the party, let the red gene be passed on from generation to generation!

"Comrade Fang Mei, a member of the Communist Party of our unit, is the daughter of Fang Zhimin, and because of the need to interview his father's deeds, please cooperate with the interview." After retiring, I went around with a letter of introduction to gather information. For the next 20 years, I spent 10 years gathering materials and another 10 years writing, running to every corner of my father's life and fighting. Every time I went to a place, people heard that I was Fang Zhimin's daughter and received me very warmly, and I was very grateful. Due to long-term writing, the fingers of my pen have completely changed shape, and I suffer from vertigo from fatigue, and my eyes can't see clearly. Even so, I did not give up, under my persistence and efforts, over the years, I have successively completed books such as "The Complete Biography of Fang Zhimin" and "Fang Zhimin and His Relatives".

Now, I am nearly 90 years old, but I still want to write a book, hoping to record the story of my father and his comrades-in-arms fighting in blood through words, so that more people can understand the history of the party and the revolutionary bones of the communists.

In recent years, I have often been invited to give lectures in various places, and my father's "lovely China" has been seen for him, and it is more cute than he imagined. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, what I would most like to say to you is that today's happy life is not easy to come by, and we must not forget the revolutionary martyrs, who threw their heads and spilled blood for today's happy life, and we must build a more lovely "lovely China" in the relay inheritance.
