Wu Juenong: Contemporary tea saint

Wu Juenong (1897--1989), a native of Shangyu, Zhejiang, was a famous tea scientist, agricultural economist, social activist, the main founder of China's modern tea industry, and was known as the "Contemporary Tea Sage". In the 1920s, he published the "Examination of the Origin of Tea Plants", which first discussed that China is the origin of tea plants. Created China's first tea major in colleges and universities, and pioneered the Tea Research Institute in Wuyishan, Fujian Province. In his later years, he was the chief editor of the "Tea Classics Review" and the "Selected Tea History Materials of Chinese Local History".

Chen Rafters: The father of the six major tea categories

Chen Rafter (1908-1999), a native of Hui'an, Fujian Province, was a tea scientist, tea educator, tea making and tea history expert, and one of the founders of higher tea education in modern China. He is the chief editor of "Tea Making", "Tea Inspection", "Tea Commodity Science", "Tea Marketing" and other textbooks, and has authored "Tea Cultivation", "Tea Manufacturing", "Tea Management", "Tea Making Technology Theory", "General History of Tea Industry" and so on.

Zhuang Wanfang: Founder of tea cultivation

Zhuang Wanfang (1908-1996), a native of Hui'an, Fujian Province, was a tea scientist, tea educator, tea cultivation expert, and one of the founders of the discipline of tea cultivation in China. He has been engaged in tea education and scientific research all his life and has cultivated a large number of tea science talents. He is the chief editor of "Tea Cultivation", and the author of "Tea Composition", "Chinese Tea", "Tea Plant Biology", "Chinese Tea History Essay" and so on.

Wang Zenong: The father of tea biochemistry

Wang Zenong (1907-1999), a native of Wuyuan, Jiangxi, was a tea scientist, tea educator, tea biochemistry expert, and founder of the discipline of tea biochemistry in China. Participated in the preparation of the first tea major in China's higher education, edited "Tea Biochemistry", "Chinese Agricultural Encyclopedia, Tea Industry Volume", etc., compiled "Research on Tea Biochemistry", authored "Principles of Tea Biochemistry" and so on.

Zhang Tianfu: A generation of tea masters

Zhang Tianfu (1910-2017), a native of Fuzhou, Fujian Province, is a tea scientist, tea making and evaluation expert. He has been engaged in tea education, production and scientific research for a long time, and has made great achievements in cultivating tea professionals, creating tea making machinery, and improving the quality of oolong tea, and has made important contributions to the recovery and development of tea in Fujian Province. In his later years, he devoted himself to the transmission of review techniques and the promotion of tea culture.
