Next month, the jewelry worn by Princess Diana will be auctioned.
The jewelry set from Royal British brand Garrard & Co. Gerard consists of 187 diamonds weighing a total of 51 carats and 5 Australian South Sea pearls with a diameter of 12 mm.
In June 1997, Diana wore the necklace to the opening performance of "Swan Lake" at the Royal Albert Hall, hence the name The Swan Lake Necklace.
No one expected that this was one of Diana's last public events during her lifetime, and the "Swan Lake Necklace" had only appeared in a hurry.
After the event, Diana returned the necklace to the jeweler to match another pair of earrings. Two months later, on August 31, 1997, she and her then wealthy Egyptian businessman boyfriend Dodi Fayyad were killed in a car accident in Paris.
The newly designed necklace earrings jewelry never returned to Diana. Because of the tragic nature of her untimely death, the family finally agreed to the jeweler to auction her off.
Since Diana "entered the palace" in 1981, costumes, jewelry, hair and makeup, has repeatedly left classics. She has an outstanding temperament and dares to wear it.
Today we look back at the beautiful jewelry and accessories that Diana wore in those years.
Diana's jewelry, let's start with the crown. The crown is the most high-end type of jewelry worn by Diana, and is mostly lent or presented by her former mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, or from her mother-in-law, the Spencer family, for formal occasions.
One of the most famous crowns she ever wore was the Lover's Knot (also known as "Pearl Tears"), which belonged to Queen Mary, wife of George V.
In 1981, the Queen gave Diana the Lover's Knot crown as a wedding gift, which she has since worn on many important occasions.

However, after Diana and Charles divorced, they returned the lover's knot to the queen.
The crown remained dormant for nearly 20 years before reviving in 2015. Diana's daughter-in-law, Princess Kate, wore it to many important occasions.
Another crown that Diana wore was the Spencer family crown, which Diana wore at her wedding. According to Diana's brother Charles Spencer, Diana was going to wear a lover's knot at the wedding that year, but because it was too heavy and would have a headache, she decided to change to a lighter family crown.
Later, on other important occasions, she also wore the family crown.
However, after Diana's death in 1997, the crown returned to her mother's family, and except for public exhibitions, only Diana's niece wore it when she married in 2018.

After the crown, Diana's most famous accessory is the various choker necklaces.
Another wedding gift from the Queen to Diana was also the emerald diamond choker necklace from Queen Mary.
Diana not only wore it in the form of a necklace, but also used it as a headband when she visited Australia, which was very creative.
Last December, after years of absence, Kate finally wore the choker necklace to an awards event.
Another choker pearl necklace was given to Diana by the queen's mother, Queen Elizabeth, when she got married.

The brooch was changed to a necklace, accompanied by a chain of seven pearls superimposed. Diana took her to the White House, danced with movie stars John Travolta and President Reagan, and left classic photos.
After Charles publicly admitted to having an affair with Camilla in 1994, Diana wore the famous "revenge dress" to the event with the same necklace.
When Harry Meghan announced her engagement in November 2017, it was reported that the two small diamonds in the engagement ring may have come from this necklace.
The Queen also lent Diana the choker necklace, a Japanese pearl, which she wore during a visit to the Netherlands in 1982.
At Prince Philip's funeral the year before, Kate also wore it.
The short necklace of pearl elements also includes this choker necklace consisting of 11 chains of 900 pearls and multiple diamonds and rubies, which is one of Diana's favorite jewels and is often worn to theaters and movie premieres.
There are also two necklaces full of diamonds, both lent to Diana by the queen, as gifts from two Saudi kings to the queen.
In addition to borrowing jewelry from the royal family in the Middle East to the queen, Diana has also received jewelry sets from the crown princes of Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Diana's earrings are also very interesting.
A gift received from jeweler Collingwood when they got married, which Kate later wore as well.
The portrait photo sent by Kate on her fortieth birthday in 2022 is also wearing this pair of earrings.
The flower pearl earrings given by the Qatari royal family at the time of marriage, Diana wore many times.
There is also this pair of pearl and diamond earrings, which Diana has worn to many events.
In recent years, Kate has chosen this pair of earrings many times when participating in events, including the pair she also wore at Charles' coronation.
The pair of aquamarine earrings that Diana and Charles wore on the Cannes red carpet in 1987 matched her pupil color just right.
Diana also wore many earrings for large diamonds, such as the teardrop diamond earrings lent to her by the queen.
In 1981, she accidentally fell asleep while wearing it to an event, was nicknamed "Sleeping Beauty", and soon announced that she was pregnant with Prince William.
When she first went to New Zealand in 1983, she wore another pair of pear-shaped diamond earrings.
Sapphire earrings are also often featured in Diana's looks, such as the earrings given to the Saudi royal family when she was married. Kate later wore it in the form of a necklace and changed back to earrings.
Meghan also wore another pair of Diana's gold butterfly earrings, which she wore when she was still in Australia.
Diana's rings, most notably sapphire engagement rings, and Welsh gold rings engraved with the words "I love you, Diana".
William used his mother's engagement ring when he proposed to Kate in Kenya in 2010.
Diana's ring collection belongs to the small and fine collection, as well as emerald and diamond rings:

Dodi Fayyad, her boyfriend who died in a car accident with Diana, bought an engagement ring the day before the car accident to propose (Diana's own choice), and Dody's father later put the ring in Harrods as a souvenir.
Bracelets are also a match that Diana often uses, such as multi-row pearl bracelets with pearl elements,
The three-row pearl bracelet worn when I went to Hong Kong, China,
Emerald bracelet (Charles' 22nd birthday present),
The W and H bracelet worn after giving birth to William Harry,
The aquamarine diamond bracelet worn on the Cannes red carpet in 1987,
Tiffany and Co. five rows of gold bracelets,
Cartier diamond bracelet, which Megan later wore in an interview with Oprah.
The Cartier watch worn by Diana was also often seen, and later Meghan also wore it.
Today, the royal jewels and private collections worn by Diana appear from time to time in Kate and other British royal family members, and only the "Swan Lake necklace earrings" flow into public auction.
From its debut in June 1997 to its reappearance in auction houses this year, Swan Lake has handled several wealthy merchant buyers in the United Kingdom, the United States and Ukraine for 26 years.
The auction will be held at Guernsey's auction house in New York, and the estimated price is between 3.5 million and 108 million yuan.
The reason for such a high valuation is, of course, Diana's own star effect, and the legendary and embarrassing story she left behind. Diana Spencer is indeed magnificent.
