In fact, it is to describe some people who deliberately hide their strength and pretend to be stupid, so that the opponent can easily take it down after the enemy. He is a tiger-like hero who deliberately deceives and fools others in order to achieve an attempt.
In Chinese history, the first person to be called a pig and eat a tiger was King Zhuang of Chu, who was not one of the five hegemons of the Spring and Autumn Period.
In 613 BC, King Zhuang of Chu ascended the throne. The State of Jin took advantage of this opportunity to pull several countries that had always been subordinate to the State of Chu and conclude a covenant. The ministers of the State of Chu were very unconvinced, and they all proposed to King Zhuang of Chu that he send troops to fight for hegemony. But the king of Chuzhuang ignored it, that is, he reigned for three years, he did not care about anything, hunting all day, drinking, all kinds of fun, and hung a large sign at the entrance of the palace, which read: "Those who enter the court, kill without forgiveness!"
There was a minister named Wu Ju, who really couldn't see it, and was determined to see King Chu zhuang. When he came to the palace, he saw King Chu Zhuang holding a wine glass in his hand, chewing venison in his mouth, and drunkenly watching songs and dances. He squinted his eyes and asked, "When the doctor came here, did he want to drink or watch the song and dance?" Wu Ju said, "Someone asked me to guess a riddle, but I can't guess it at all, so I'm here to ask you for advice." King Chu Zhuang asked while drinking, "What riddle is so hard to guess?" You talk. Wu Ju said: "There are big birds in Chujing, which inhabit the court hall for three years, and do not sound or fly. What kind of bird is this?"
King Chu Zhuang listened, understood Wu Ju's meaning in his heart, and said with a smile: "This bird is not an ordinary bird, this bird, it has not flown for three years, and it has soared into the sky; Three years without a sound, a blockbuster. You wait and see. Wu Ju understood king Chu Zhuang's meaning and withdrew happily.
After a while, another minister, Su Cong, saw that King Chu Zhuang was not moving, and went to persuade King Chu Zhuang again. King Chu Zhuang asked him, "Don't you know the ban I have issued?" Su Cong said, "I know that as long as the king can listen to my opinion, I have violated the ban and been sentenced to death, and I am willing." King Chu Zhuang said happily, "You are all sincerely for the good of the country, so why would I not understand?" ”
After this, King Zhuang of Chu was determined to reform politics, removed a group of flattering people from their posts, and promoted Wu Ju and Su Cong, who dared to give advice, to help him deal with major state affairs; on the one hand, he made weapons and trained soldiers and horses. In that year, many tribes in the south were subdued. In the sixth year, the Song Kingdom was defeated. In the eighth year, he defeated the Rong clan of Lu Hun (in present-day northeastern Song County, Henan) all the way to the vicinity of the Zhou capital Luoyi, and King Zhuang of Chu became one of the Five Lords of the Spring and Autumn Period.
Therefore, during the three years of King Chuzhuang's dormancy, others thought that he was drunk and incompetent, and all kinds of people jumped out one after another to make the wind and the rain to make the rain. In fact, he is observing, is knowing people, but also accumulating strength, and then taking a shot to control the court in one fell swoop, to achieve his ideals and ambitions, is this not playing a pig and eating a tiger?
