Professor Wang Wenyuan (1931-2014) was a well-known scholar who came out of the farmhouse, a high-ranking official in cloth who always maintained the true color of a commoner, and the leader of the Jiusan Society. He was born on January 24, 1931 in Coal City, Luocheng County, Henan Province, in Qianchuan Street, Huangpi District, Hubei Province. Wuhan No. 1 Middle School (formerly Hankou Municipal No. 1 Boys' Middle School) first job after graduation was as an accountant at Huangpi Qianshun Oil Factory (a private enterprise) and was reassigned as an accountant for Huazhong Iron and Steel Company. In August 1953, he was admitted to the Department of Finance and Credit of Northeast Accounting and Statistics College (later merged into Dongbei College of Finance and Economics and Liaoning University)...... He became an accounting master and economic master, the first dean of the School of Economics and Management of Liaoning University, and wrote, edited, translated and approved more than 30 kinds of accounting monographs, college textbooks and reference books.

Time flies, and the admirable Professor Wang Wenyuan has returned to Daoshan for five or six years! During the writing of "The Biography of Wang Wenyuan", the author re-browsed the inscriptions and revised manuscript handwriting that Elder Wang gave me in the past ten years, and the past scene seems to be vividly remembered.
I became acquainted with Wang Lao Yiwen, and his first impression on me was that he was as famous as he was. It was December 8, 2002, and at the behest of the family of the master and the publishing house, I went to Beijing to ask the old man to write a preface to the humble work "The Legend of Tian Changlin". At that time, through the guidance of Director Hu Bingji and under the guidance of Huang Caichang, director of the Beijing Office, I walked into the official residence of a state leader for the first time in my life.

After taking our seats, the old man told us in authentic northern Mandarin that he had officially retired from the leadership position of executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society and was about to step down as vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. After listening to it, I couldn't help but feel a little sad, thinking: Generally speaking, a person who has just retired from a leadership position will inevitably feel a sense of loss. When Elder Wang stepped down, he was not exempt from vulgarity, right!? Maybe this time to ask him to write the preface, it is not the right time. When I dared to explain my intentions to the old man and presented the manuscript to him with both hands, my heart was beating.

We Huangpi people are also proud. You have done a very meaningful thing, both public and private, I will support! However, for the preface, I have to carefully read the manuscript and then reply to you. ”
This kind old man's reasonable words were immediately impressed! I immediately stood up and bowed deeply to Elder Wang. Before leaving, Elder Wang also took a group photo with me cordially, leaving an eternal freeze frame.

Bidding farewell to Elder Wang, on the train back, I couldn't sleep at night, and I couldn't help but think about it. After the clumsy work, according to the requirements of the publishing house and the relatives of the owner, I contacted a number of academicians, ministers, and presidents of colleges and universities through various channels, hoping that they would write a preface to "Tian Changlin". This time, he presented himself to Elder Wang, who said that he would read the manuscript and then write the preface, was the old man strict in his studies or in an official manner?
Or is it that Elder Wang is hindered by Lao Huang's affection and is inconvenient to directly reject the excuse I am looking for? Besides, as a state leader and a well-known scholar, he also holds various social positions such as president of the China Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification, honorary vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, and so on. After all, he and he had a huge disparity in status and only one side of the relationship, and Elder Wang knew many people from all walks of life, how could he cope with it? Therefore, I have been playing drums in my heart whether I have made a preface to Elder Wang.

I read it in one sitting and found the signature and time at the end of the article: "Wang Wenyuan, December 10, 2002." That is to say, the elder Wang, who was getting older, completed the preface within three days of receiving the manuscript. It can be seen that Elder Wang has been reviewing the 260,000-word manuscript for several days and preparing the preface.

Moreover, with a rigorous attitude, Elder Wang not only had eyebrow and tail criticisms of the manuscript, but also corrected the words and sentences and even punctuation marks one by one. Among them, he summarized Tian Changlin's phrase "scientific research is good at taking extremes" in his humble work to "scientific research is good at grasping the tip", and he was immediately enlightened. Although only two words have been changed, "grasping the tip" is more accurate, more popular, and covers a wider range than "going to the extreme". This means that Tian Changlin not only "goes to extremes" when he engages in scientific research, but also leads the scholars of the World-famous University of California, Berkeley, to tackle cutting-edge science. It's the finishing touch.
In addition, regarding Tian Changlin's ancestral hometown, the prince added parentheses after the author's original manuscript "Huangpi County, Hubei Province" and added it as "Huangpi District of present-day Wuhan City". It is marked in this way so that the general reader can see at a glance the evolution of the local administrative divisions.

After the publication of the book, I went with the editor to the United States, Russia and the three countries along the Mediterranean, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan, and the book also won the only gold medal in the Chinese "biographical literature" category in Hong Kong. After Elder Wang learned about it, he gladly ordered the pen to give me a banner of encouragement: "A hundred flowers bloom, and the fragrance floats in the four seas!" ”
It is precisely under the encouragement of the prince that the literary and artistic circles in his hometown of Huangpi have flourished, and the waves behind the Yangtze River have pushed forward; basic education is also a hundred feet and ahead.
