Hou Youyi's initiative to visit Ma Ying-jeou was interpreted by Taiwan media as Hou Youyi's cross-strait advocacy in moving closer to Ma Ying-jeou, and Hou Youyi is also using this to woo deep blue voters. Hou Youyi had previously publicly expressed his position of "opposing 'Taiwan independence'," while a person on the Hou side said that Hou Youyi's position on cross-strait relations is in line with that of the Kuomintang Central Committee and will be further explained at an appropriate time.
At present, Ma Ying-jeou, Zhu Lilun, Hou Youyi, Gou Taiming and other major figures of the Kuomintang have all expressed their position of severing seats with "Taiwan independence," and this as a whole represents the KMT's judgment on the direction of the cross-strait winds. The more the trend of reunification takes shape and becomes visible, the more people in the Kuomintang will openly echo Ms. Hong Xiuzhu. At present, the trend of cross-strait reunification is taking shape more and more. The Lhasa ship formation sailed around Japan and the launch of a new round of maritime infrastructure projects in the South China Sea have already shown that the Sino-US game area is moving from the Taiwan Strait to the outer edge. The Stinger MANPADS order reached between the United States and the Taiwan authorities in 2019 was recently delivered by the United States through the "Special Drawing Rights", indicating that the US military industrial capacity is currently in an overloaded state.
