Beginning in the 15th century, Europeans actively expanded at sea and colonized everywhere. In the mid-19th century, colonists reached deep into the Great Lakes region of Africa, including Rwanda.
After secretly doing some local research, the colonists put forward a pseudoscientific theory: some of the local people are Mits, relatively close in blood to Europeans, "superior race", conquerors or rulers of Africa, good at animal husbandry, and "more advanced" in civilization; The other black-skinned people, descended from Canaan, were "inferior races" and were born to be enslaved by "superior races."
The so-called descendants of the Hamites and Canaanite were just a division concocted by medieval European theologians, and they were dark-skinned people. European theologians believed that the descendants of Canaan were descendants of the cursed, and that the curse was enslavement for generations.
In fact, the European colonizers came up with nothing more than to rationalize the slave trade they were engaged in and cover up their greed.
Rwanda originally had a natural ethnic division. Rwanda's population is mostly Hutu, with a small percentage of Tutsis. However, according to the division of European colonists, Tutsis were what they called Mits, and the rest of the Rwandans were "inferior races".
Originally, there was harmony among the people of Rwanda, and it was European colonialists who artificially tore Rwandan society apart, laying the seeds for subsequent massacres.

Belgian colonizers introduced a malicious identity card system in Rwanda. They very hastily divided the criteria, artificially dividing the Rwandan people at that time into "Tutsis" and "Hutu" according to their wishes.
Their criteria, one is whether they look like Europeans, and the other is whether they have a lot of money. Those who look like Europeans are Tutsis and have an "aristocratic" temperament.
There are many cattle and sheep in the family, and they are also Tutsis. In some areas where the situation is more complicated, which group of people is counted depends on the mood of the colonists responsible for the division at that time.
From beginning to end, there is basically no science to speak of, it is completely a conspiracy of the colonists. What's even more ridiculous is that this identity is fluid, property changes, etc., can make people change from "lowly" to "noble" at any time, or vice versa.
The "new version" of the Tutsi, carefully selected by the colonizers, became a tool in their hands. The Tutsis, supported by the colonizers, had a monopoly on almost all political power in Rwanda.
The Hutu, who make up the majority of the population, can only be used as cattle and horses, and are discriminated against and oppressed. So unequal, and the seeds of hatred continue to grow. It wasn't until the end of World War II, when Rwanda became independent in 1962, that the Hutu had the opportunity to turn over and become masters!
The Hutu began to take revenge on the Tutsis, and they introduced a national policy of discrimination against the Tutsi. At this juncture, in order to enhance its international status, France sought hegemony in Africa, and Rwanda was unfortunately targeted by it.
France is racist in Rwanda and is intent on further dividing Rwanda. The Tutsis rebelled against oppression and formed the Rwandan Patriotic Front. In 1990, Tutsis and Hutus fought and civil war broke out.
In 1993, the two sides were about to negotiate peace, but the hardliners among the Hutu were unwilling to stir up the situation even more with violence. In April of the following year, Hutu President Habya Limana was shot down by an unidentified missile over the Rwandan capital, Kigali, while on a plane.
The incident quickly ignited a powder keg that had been brewing in Rwanda for many days. The massacre began.

Exactly who fired the missile that killed the president still seems to be a mystery. However, in April 1994, the Hutu firmly believed that it was the hands of the Tutsi.
The Presidential Guard drew up a long list of killings at the first time, arrested people everywhere, and immediately executed people summarily without trial. Barricades were erected throughout the city to prevent the target from escaping.
The frenzied revengeists also used radio stations to broadcast the names and addresses of the people they wanted to kill over and over again to the people of the country. They incite the emotions of the masses, encourage them to kill those who vent the hatred that has accumulated in their hearts.
The scope of the massacre quickly spread throughout the country, and the death toll began to soar. It was a horrific massacre! The identity card system brought by the colonists played a terrible role in the massacre.
In the countryside, because of the familiarity of the people, the Tutsis have nowhere to escape. In cities, ID cards are needed to distinguish them. But if you are found to have a problem with your ID card, you would rather kill by mistake than let one go.
Even the perpetrators, the Hutu, became victims. Both Tutsis and Hutus, who have been mixed for a long time, have long been integrated. Physical characteristics are not a reliable criterion, so some Hutus who look like Tutsis are also killed.
What's even more frightening is that some Hutus are very frustrated! They hated the Tutsi and in order to ensure that the Hutu race was not contaminated, they carried out a large-scale persecution of Tutsi women! Hutu women are pregnant with the child of a Tutsi man, and their disposal is to directly cut the child in the other's womb!
No Western country intervened to stop this massacre. The reason they gave was very high-sounding, that it was Rwanda's internal affair and that they could not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries at will.
In the end, it was the Rwandan Patriotic Front that led the people to revolt and cleaned up the situation. But more than three months of chaos have killed millions of people and left countless wounded women.
No one is optimistic about such a broken country, and they all believe that Rwanda will forever be in hell and will never rise. Fortunately, Rwanda has welcomed a strong leader, Paul Kagame.
Kagame is Tutsi, but he is sensible and not blinded by narrow racial hatred. He has a big picture and he genuinely wants to make Rwanda better again.
He was the leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front and he was the one who quelled the chaos in the country. With such credit, he did not become president, but let a more moderate-minded Hutu become president.
Kagame himself is vice president, while controlling the army. This combination not only allows him to essentially control the overall situation, but also calms the emotions of the two ethnic groups.
Faced with the mess of the massacres, Kagame showed full calmness and generosity. Instead of pursuing them, he picked up hundreds of them that had been named by the United Nations.
For the remaining murderers, he took advantage of the old folk tradition of the "Gaikaka court". The perpetrator and the victim come together, the former genuinely repenting and encouraging the latter to forgive. The issue of compensation is also resolved through this folk tradition.
In addition, Kagame abolished the evil identity card system and unified everyone, Tutsis and Hutus, into Rwandans. Anyone who dares to use the terms Tutsis and Hutus will be punished by the law.
Thanks to Kagame's efforts, calm has finally been restored in Rwanda. Kagame became president in 2000 and has been working for Rwanda ever since.

However, how to develop Rwanda's economy is a difficult problem for Kagame. He soon set his sights on China to the East.
Compared with the Western development path, Kagame believes that China's development path is more suitable for Rwanda. China's development is a miracle, and its various experiences are more operable.
He attached great importance to agriculture and worked to make food accessible to all in Rwanda. He also asked China for assistance in developing many of the techniques of agriculture, and China selflessly helped them.
China is an "infrastructure maniac", and Kagame is also engaged in infrastructure construction at home. Every year, a large part of the government's budget is reserved for infrastructure.
Transportation road infrastructure, power infrastructure, etc., are all projects that Kagame focuses on. Of course, these construction projects have not been limited to cooperation with China.
Bringing in foreign capital to set up factories, attaching importance to education and medical care, attaching importance to bureaucracy and fighting corruption... In many ways, Kagame and his government have made achievements more pragmatically.
Cooperation between Rwanda and China is manifold. China's rich experience in poverty reduction, health and health, agricultural economy, real estate, finance, cyber security, etc., is very popular in Rwanda.
China's Belt and Road Initiative has also benefited Rwanda. The two countries have forged a deep friendship.
Today, Rwanda has a new look. From 2001 to 2015, Rwanda's GDP grew at an average annual rate of 8%. GDP growth was severely affected during the pandemic, but in 2022 and 2023, its GDP growth rate returned to its once strong growth momentum.

Modern Rwanda has beautiful cities and its security is unique in Africa. In Rwandan cities, you can go out without worrying about sudden shootings or robberies. Police patrolling around the clock provide a sense of security for the people.
Such a vibrant Rwanda has completed the transformation from hell to heaven. However, the Western countries, which once pushed Rwanda to hell, have something to say.
In recent years, Western countries have always spread rumors that China's aid to Rwanda has bad intentions. China lent money to Rwanda, and they said that there was a "debt trap", framing China to make Rwanda unable to pay back, and then taking the opportunity to let Rwanda cede land and give up resources.
The West also says that China's investment in Rwanda is aimed at squeezing Rwanda's raw materials and hollowing out Rwanda's mineral and other resources. It has to be said that the hats that some Western countries put on China are actually dirty things that they can only do.
Kagame has long seen through the tricks of Western countries. No matter what the West says, his trust in China is unwavering.
