Legends:

According to legend, in the past, when thunder roared, it did not emit electricity first, and when it killed people, it was not very prudent.

There was a widow whose husband died early and had no sons, her family was poor, and there was only one in-law in the hall, who served her in-laws very filial and refused to remarry.

Once, her in-laws were sick and wanted to eat meat, and the family was very poor and had no money to buy meat, so she thought left and right, so she resolutely cut off the meat on her hands and cooked it to honor her in-laws.

But when her in-laws saw the tough flesh of her hands, she did not know how to understand her daughter-in-law's filial piety, but thought that her daughter-in-law was not filial, saved the good meat she bought to eat herself, and cooked the meat that was close to the skin to honor her.

She scolded, and asked Wulei to beat her daughter-in-law to death, but how did she know that Wulei really answered the order, and suddenly beat her daughter-in-law to death.

When the mortuary found that a piece of flesh had been cut off from her daughter-in-law's thigh, and there were still blood scars, she suddenly woke up and repented.

She cried and begged Lei Gong to take her daughter-in-law to be born, and Lei Gong also regretted his imprudentness, listening to the old woman's words, and actually killed a good person by mistake.

So Lei Gong played the Jade Emperor and asked for orders to give this widow as an electric mother.

Before it thunders, the electric mother can shine light, first brighten the good and evil of the world, so as not to hit people by mistake again.

So when thunder strikes now, there is a flash of electricity and then thunder.
