Mu Guiying is a character in Chinese novels, is there really a person in history?
There are three theories. The first is that there is no such person in history. The second theory, although there is no Mu Guiying, there is a historical prototype of Mu Guiying. The third theory is that there is indeed a person in history who is Mu Guiying.
The first theory is that Mu Guiying does not exist in real history.
In real history, Yang Ye died on the battlefield of the Battle of Song and Liao, and posthumously honored Taiwei and Yang Linggong. The second theory is that Mu Guiying has a historical prototype. Mu Guiying was based on the famous female general Qin Liangyu of the Ming Dynasty. She was a female military commander, a national hero, and a lady of the Yipin Commandments who had made outstanding military achievements in the last years of the Ming Dynasty. Qin Liangyu even became the first female general in China's feudal history to be recorded in the history of zhengyi, which is extremely legendary. Therefore, the classic character image of Mu Guiying, a female general, is likely to borrow the characteristics of Qin Liangyu...
The third theory, Mu Guiying, does exist, in recent years in many places have found the Yang family tree, for example, in Shanxi Dai County "Yang Family Genealogy", Shanxi Yuanping "Yang Family Genealogy" in the name of Liulang Yanlang, respectively, there are Three sons of Zong Bao, Zong Zheng, and Zong Mian. And Hubei Huangmei's "Yang Family Genealogy" even has the text of: "Zong Bao's wife Mu Shi, sheng Wen Guang, Tongxin's second son".

Mu Guiying couldn't help but tremble when he saw Yang Zongbao, it turned out that Mu Guiying had saved the injured Yang Zongbao when he was studying art in Zixia, three years ago, and the two fell in love at first sight, and Mu Guiying's master Li Shan's old mother was the master, and promised Mu Guiying's life to Yang Zongbao.

Yang Liulang got on his horse and returned to the camp, set up a plan of "beheading the son naxian", led Mu Guiying to save his husband and returned to the Song, and broke the Heavenly Gate Array, which is the traditional drama we often see " Yuanmen Chopper".

Mu Guiying and three other female generals were killed by arrows on the spot, and several other female generals who remained under the cliff rushed to the rescue together, because they were outnumbered, the female generals finally all sacrificed at the top of the cliff, and finally were cut off by the Western Xia people and thrown to the bottom of the mountain.
