Comrade Hua Guofeng clearly remembers the scene when he first met Chairman Mao. In July 1955, because schistosomiasis was effectively alleviated, Chairman Mao came to Changsha to summon the main officials to deal with schistosomiasis. At that time, a total of four people were summoned, namely Tan Yubao, deputy secretary of the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee, Hu Jizong and Xu Qiwen, members of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee, and Hua Guofeng, secretary of the Prefectural CPC Committee.

Even the US leaders, who have been attacking and slandering our country, can only be convinced when they get to know Chairman Mao. When Hua Guofeng looked at the chairman, Chairman Mao was also quietly observing this Hua Guofeng, who was wearing a semi-old Zhongshan suit and round cloth shoes on his feet, serving as his parent official in his hometown. Chairman Mao did not know Hua Guofeng for the first time; the first time he knew the name Hua Guofeng was in several reports.
In July 1955, Chairman Mao wrote an article entitled "Report on the Question of Agricultural Co-operatives" to guide the agricultural co-operative movement at that time. Chairman Mao was with the masses of the people

At the beginning of 1949, with the gradual liberation of Southern China, there was also an urgent need for various talents and cadres. At that time, hua Guofeng, under the call of the state, came from Shanxi, where he had previously worked, to the Xiangtan area of Hunan. For Hua Guofeng's outstanding contributions in Shanxi, he was appointed secretary of the Xiangyin County Party Committee in Hunan Province, the first secretary of the Xiangyin County Party Committee.

Therefore, people's lives are getting better and better, and when the chairman asks, of course, he praises Hua Guofeng everywhere. However, Chairman Mao adhered to the idea of "hearing is false, and seeing is believing", no matter how much the villagers exaggerated and exaggerated Hua Guofeng, the chairman also said that he wanted to meet Hua Guofeng himself.

In this way, Chairman Mao believed the villagers' evaluation of Hua Guofeng and considered him an honest and honest, loyal and trustworthy person. In October 1955, Hua Guofeng attended the Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. At the meeting, Hua Guofeng comprehensively introduced the agricultural cooperative movement in Xiangtan area and shared his experience with the participants. Hua Guofeng's speech once again left a deep impression on the chairman. After the meeting, Chairman Mao praised Hua Guofeng: "You are my parent official!" Hua Guofeng was among the masses
The friendship between Hua Guofeng and Chairman Mao was thus concluded. After that, Chairman Mao was very optimistic about Hua Guofeng and believed that Hua Guofeng had great potential. In 1965, Hua Guofeng was appointed commander-in-chief of the Shaoshan Irrigation District Project to build a 240-kilometer-long trunk canal for Xiangtan. After receiving the order, Hua Guofeng quickly mobilized a large number of migrant workers, actively built trunk canals, and successfully diverted water to irrigate more than one million mu of farmland, and newly built 6,800 mu of farmland.
Because of Hua Guofeng's feat, in July 1970, Hua Guofeng served as the engineering commander of the Ouyang Hai Irrigation District. This is another large-scale water conservancy project in Hunan, and if it can be successfully completed, it will effectively solve the problem of water and drought threats in Chenzhou and Hengyang in shonan Province. Fortunately, Hua Guofeng did not fail in his mission, relied on rich experience, overcame a large number of difficulties, and finally built this water conservancy project. Chairman Mao once again saw Hua Guofeng's work ability, and during an inspection in Hunan, Chairman Mao praised Hua Guofeng with allusions to the Chunling River.
Chairman Mao greatly admired Hua Guofeng's ability, and Hua Guofeng also regarded Chairman Mao as his own example. In Hua Guofeng's eyes, Chairman Mao had a unique idea, and he was often able to find and solve problems with a different vision. Chairman Mao's mentality of disobeying the old always made Hua Guofeng feel that the chairman was already an old man. However, Chairman Mao's mentality is not old, but he also has to admit that all aspects of his body have slowly aged.

Chairman Mao fell ill because of his busy work all year round, and his young fashion was able to resist one resistance, and as he gradually grew older, various problems also appeared. The first was frequent coughing, which not only made it difficult for the chairman to sleep, but also gradually developed into pneumonia. When Chairman Mao knew that he was suffering from pneumonia, his heart did not fluctuate too much. Because in the Chair's view, anything can be overcome.
However, when the doctor said that he wanted to hospitalize the chairman, the chairman's calm mood fluctuated. Once hospitalized, it meant that much of the President's work had to be interrupted, which the President would not allow. The chairman has long regarded the people as his own everything, and his job is to build the country and let the people live a better life. If you can't work, many important things can't be done, which will affect the country's livelihood. When Chairman Mao thought of this, he felt unbearable in his heart, saying that he would not be hospitalized at all, and was only willing to take some anti-inflammatory drugs that would not affect his work.
The chairman who is tormented by illness
As a result, the President's physical problems became more and more serious. In addition to pneumonia, higher and higher blood pressure has also become a problem, and the high blood pressure has led to Chairman Mao's physical strength declining, and his resistance ability has become worse and worse, which in turn has aggravated the chairman's pneumonia problem, which is simply a vicious circle. In 1974, Chairman Mao suffered from cataracts again. Cataracts prevented the chairman from seeing everything around him, and Chairman Mao's favorite job had to be abandoned. Plagued by these diseases, the chairman sometimes loses control of his emotions and gets angry with the staff. Afterwards, the chairman regretted it in particular and often stole tears. Hua Guofeng went to see Chairman Mao several times, and every time he saw him, he was even more sad than the last time, and a sad feeling of "hero aging" arose in his heart.
On September 9, 1976, Chairman Mao died under the torment of illness. Hua Guofeng, who was receiving foreign guests, did not have the last side of the chairman, which also became a pain in his life. At that time, after Hua Guofeng received the phone, the news from the other end of the phone made Hua Guofeng almost unstable. Before he could hang up the phone, Hua Guofeng immediately rushed to Zhongnanhai, and at the moment when he saw the chairman's body, Hua Guofeng was willing to believe that the chairman had died, and his tears could no longer be stopped, and they dripped down one by one.
After the president's death, the crowd wept bitterly
At four o'clock in the afternoon of September 9, the news of the chairman's death spread to every corner of the land of China through the radio, and people could not believe that their beloved Chairman Mao had left everyone. In China, time seems to have stood still, and people are all standing still. It wasn't until the first cry broke out that everything moved, and the streets and alleys were full of cries one after another, and had to accept this sudden bad news.
On the afternoon of September 18, 1976, Chairman Mao's memorial service was held in Tiananmen Square, and Comrade Hua Guofeng read out a eulogy. As the silence ended, the time for Hua Guofeng to recite the eulogy also came, and he endured the grief in his heart, clutched the microphone with trembling hands, and read out the eulogy word by word: "The death of the great Chairman Mao is an immeasurable loss to the people of all nationalities in our party and our army, as well as to the international property class.
