Deng Renliang, the south gate of the county seat, a soldier carrying an iron pot to resist US aggression and aid Korea

In January 1951, Deng Renliang, who had just been newly married, responded to the call of the motherland and resolutely left his homeland and relatives to join the Chinese People's Volunteer Army and plunged into the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

The predecessor of Deng Renliang's unit, the 68th Army, was the 6th Column of the North China Military Region. The war in Korea was reorganized into the 68th Army of the Chinese People's Volunteers, with more than 46,000 soldiers in the whole army. The cooking squad of the machine gun company of the 202nd Division Instruction Battalion has more than 30 soldiers, except for the cooks responsible for cooking and cooking, the rest of the soldiers of the cooking squad are responsible for the task of delivering food to the front line.

Once his 202nd Division and 203rd Division were responsible for the defense of the line from the North Han River to Wenden-ri, their cooking squad was successively transferred with the troops, Deng Renliang carried the marching pot on his back to change positions, and when he crossed the enemy blockade line, the enemy's shells exploded around him, splashing stones and hitting the marching pot clanging, he didn't know how to be afraid, cleverly used the marching pot as a helmet, dodged the enemy's artillery fire, and quickly set up tents to prepare meals for the soldiers after the troops arrived at the position, so that the soldiers could eat and have more spirit to charge and kill the enemy.

According to data, the 68th Army fought the enemy 1,021 times in three years and 10 months after entering the DPRK, annihilating 74,844 of the enemy. Deng Renliang almost followed the troops to participate in the battle, delivering food and water to the soldiers, he witnessed the sacrifice of his comrades around him, the cooks and soldiers changed one after another, and he did not know how many times he passed by the Grim Reaper.

According to the recollections of Deng Renliang's son-in-law Yan Caimei, his father-in-law told him before his death that at night, the cooking class was attacked by a small group of US troops, and the soldiers fought fiercely with the enemy in the ice and snow until dawn, and many soldiers died heroically. He also told his family that the hardest battles fought were the "autumn offensive" and the "tank splitting battle" of the enemy. The battle was in a state of stagnation, and the soldiers of the cooking squad who fought to the end also entered the position, and it was in that battle that he was wounded in his cheekbones,

Deng Renliang was wounded and transferred to a field hospital for treatment, where he retired in January 1955. The local government allocated him a house in accordance with the relevant regulations and gave him certain preferential treatment. He worked as a farmer at home and participated in the construction of the "Lao Yugong" hydropower station in our county and the "Cultural Revolution" hydropower station in Luofang Commune. Deng Renliang was loyal and conscientious throughout his life, and although he had combat experience in resisting US aggression and aiding Korea, he was never proud of his achievements, and by the mid-to-late seventies, the after-effects of battlefield injuries often brought him physical pain and torture, but he never made any demands to the local government.

In April 1980, Deng Renliang said to his children on the occasion of his death: Remembering how many fallen comrades-in-arms, it is a blessing that he can return to his hometown, and he asked his sons and daughters not to forget their roots, abide by discipline and law, and keep everything simple after death. After Deng Renliang's death, the county civil affairs department allocated 600 yuan to the family for burial expenses in accordance with the relevant regulations at that time, and the local organization held a relatively grand burial ceremony for him according to folk customs. Although his story is not earth-shattering, his tenacious spirit and firm faith are touching, making people cry, and composing a heroic hymn that is heartfelt...
