Who has the capacity to resolve the crisis in the Sudan? African experts said bluntly: China is the most reassuring

The recent armed conflict in the Sudan has aroused great concern from the international community. Despite the constant calls from all sectors of society for the two sides to negotiate a ceasefire, who has the capacity to use effective mediation? But it became a problem.

Not long ago, an African expert bluntly said that "Sudanese leaders are less confident in the West, and they will be more assured of China-backed mediation." They believe that Western countries will only use the "sanctions stick" to constantly put pressure on Sudan, and let China become this "peacemaker" in order to make both sides of Sudan most assured.

So can we in China exert our influence to effectively mediate and resolve this crisis?

I think this African expert is still very discerning.

First of all, China and Sudan have cooperated in many fields since the last century, and are now one of Sudan's largest trading partners. China has not only invested heavily in Sudan's economy, but also helped Sudan build many important energy infrastructure. Such economic influence is exactly what Western countries lack, and more importantly, China, unlike other Western countries, will not use "economic sanctions" as weapons at every turn to dictate the internal affairs of other countries.

Second, many things have fully proved that China is a responsible big country in the international community, so after the civil unrest in Sudan, it has constantly called on the two sides to resolve their differences peacefully through dialogue to avoid causing more unnecessary casualties. At the same time, China has repeatedly provided humanitarian assistance to Sudan, including medical supplies, food and so on. This shows very well that China is a peace-loving country and will not bear to watch the local people suffer because of the war.

Finally, in addition to economic cooperation and humanitarian assistance with Sudan, China has also demonstrated strong diplomatic mediation capabilities internationally. For example, recently, after China successfully promoted the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, it continued to mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, which were highly praised by both sides. These diplomatic achievements show that China has the channels and ability to communicate and coordinate with Middle East countries, as well as a sense of responsibility for maintaining regional peace and stability, and is a trustworthy international power.

It is worth mentioning that at present, the two sides of the Sudanese conflict are holding ceasefire talks in Saudi Arabia, although relevant sources say that there is no major progress in this talk. But it is also a positive sign that there is still a willingness on both sides of the conflict in the Sudan to cease fire. So since we can talk, then China can give full play to the advantages that Western countries do not have and provide more help to promote the peace process in Sudan.

The war in Sudan has burned for too long, too much blood and tears, too many lives and hopes, have been ruthlessly destroyed. The Sudanese people need peace, tranquillity and happiness. I believe that we in China have the responsibility, ability and willingness to play an active role in the crisis in Sudan and set the most just example for world peace and security.
