This is the first Wang Qingzhou calligraphy exhibition held in China, displaying 30 works of Yu cursive and affiliated calligraphy by Wang Qingzhou. The curator of this exhibition, the famous calligrapher Mr. Gong Haitao: Mr. Qingzhou This exhibition, I think it is from his own perspective of calligraphy and painting, we know that Mr. Wang Qingzhou is a family of calligraphy and painting, he has been interested in calligraphy and painting since he was a child, especially in recent years, in this depth of painting, give us a lot of inspiration, I from a good friend's point of view, many of his things are derived from the pen and ink language of Chinese calligraphy, he painted a lot of paintings like oil paint, there is a Western feeling, conceptual painting, But its sense of brush strokes, all from calligraphy, and he uses more of the calligraphy of the Qin seal Han subordinate, I think it is the seal subordinate calligraphy, ... There are not many freehand paintings to express this kind of freehand painting, Wu Changshuo of the Qing Dynasty used this seal subordinate brushwork to express Chinese painting, and Mr. Qingzhou, he is not limited to this understanding of Chinese painting, he uses this traditional pen and ink language to express his heart, and absorbs some new artistic views, to express his artistic creation, its root is Chinese calligraphy, is Qin and Han, This is worth learning and speculating about personally. Mr. Cheongju and I are old classmates, and once when we were chatting, we talked about some phenomena of contemporary calligraphy, and he felt that calligraphy creation should not be limited to the expression of technique, not limited to the copying of this traditional model, and the inherent expression of the traditional model. He feels that he should express himself more, like the ancients said that calligraphy creation is no ancients are me, and this is just in line with Mr. Cheongju's consistent life state, I think it is also in line with his own truth to art, is a very sincere person, is a person who dares to tell the truth, through the use of frank pen and ink language, natural taste, to express his writing state, is also an original intention of this exhibition, these more than 30 works express his personal artistic aesthetics, that is, an expression of personal style aesthetic taste, It is also an expression of the self.

My friendship with Cheongju originated from Lishui Bridge (where the first Chinese Calligraphy Court Advanced Seminar was held), and it has been 18 years now, during which Cheongju has not left calligraphy behind, and has a kind of dedication to learning art, and once identified, it is particularly persistent. He has dozens of Han monuments in previous years, and from beginning to end, he has put a lot of effort into the books and octopus before, but this exhibition of works gives me a very new feeling, with the combination of imakusa and octopus, smooth and simple. Moreover, the pen, body, writing and writing of the work are very skillful. I'm very happy and happy, I think it's actually quite interesting for Cheongju to write such Chinese calligraphy in New York. In the past, he gave me the impression that he had made many meaningful works in terms of pen, ink, color, and modern and contemporary areas, but calligraphy should be the first time, very good, and learned.
