On June 13, according to the resolution of the 51st session of the TYPHOON COMMITTEE of ESCA/WMO, three new names will replace typhoons "Libra", "Tiange" and "Kai Tak", which were removed from the list in 2017 for causing serious disasters, namely "Puppy", "Bobcat" and "Mandarin Duck".

After consultation with the China Meteorological Administration, the Macao Geophysical and Meteorological Bureau, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Taiwan Meteorological Department, the final Chinese translation of the new name was officially announced today: Typhoons "Puppies", "Bobcats" and "Mandarin Ducks".
Among them, "Puppy" and "Bobcat" are provided by Japan, and "Mandarin Duck" is provided by Hong Kong, China.
