Remember the giant eagle rescued by Chongming District? Its wounds have healed and it has returned to the wild.
On the evening of January 10, the Police Station of Chengqiao Town received an alarm from the public that a suspected eagle bird in the Jinri Dongyuan community was injured and in urgent need of rescue. After receiving the call from the police station, the forestry department of Chongming District immediately sent staff and police to the scene to deal with it.
After on-site inspection, the left wing of this "eagle" was injured and could not fly normally. The forestry department of Chongming District sent him to the wildlife shelter and rescue point in Dongping Forest Park for shelter and rescue.

At the wildlife shelter and rescue point in Chongming Dongping National Forest Park, after more than 20 days of meticulous care, the giant eagle has recovered from its injuries, and its ability to eat independently and fly has also been restored, meeting the conditions for release into the wild.
"We feed it every day with pork, pork liver. Afraid that it will not fly in the future, so control it do not eat too much, the general amount of food is controlled in about two or two to three pork, pork liver. Tong Minhua, a rescuer at the Chongming District Terrestrial Wildlife Shelter and Rescue Center, introduced.
The giant eagle is a national second-class protected animal, which has been recorded in Shanghai since 1943.
The kuáng is a species of bird in the genus Hawkaceae, a large bird of prey with a body length of 570–760 mm, inhabiting montane, foothill plains and grasslands, and prefers to rest on tall trees or high convex objects. It feeds mainly on rodents, frogs, lizards, hares, snakes, weasels, pikas, marmots, pheasants, stone chickens, insects and other animal foods.

On the afternoon of February 1, the giant eagle returned to nature. At the scene, the staff opened the cage, and after a moment of waiting, the giant eagle flew out of the cage and disappeared into the depths of the woodland, returning to its familiar home.
