Geng Qichang was born on March 25, 1947 (the third day of the first month of the leap year of the lunar calendar) by the ethnic Han Dynasty, and is a native of Beijing. A first-class actor at the National Peking Opera of China, a worker and an old student.
He is a member of the Ninth and Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Participated in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala Peking Opera singing for many consecutive times. His wife is Li Weikang, a famous Peking Opera actor in China.
When Geng Qichang was 10 years old, he was admitted to the Chinese Opera School and learned to be an old student. The enlightened teacher is Mr. Chen Binyu, who was taught by Lei Xifu, Guan Dayuan, Wang Lianping, Ru Fulan, Song Jiting, Guo Zhonglin and other famous Peking Opera predecessors when he was in the drama school.
