It is understood that Hong Zhiguang is a doctoral graduate of the Opera Department of the Yale University School of Music. The opera magazine reported him as "the most promising young opera performer of our time"; China Music Daily described him as "a new star in the opera world". As an opera singer active at home and abroad, since starring in the first opera "Don Pasquale" in 2011, he has played major roles in more than 30 Chinese and foreign operas such as "Carmen", "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Don Quixote". In May 2014 and September 2017, he successfully held solo concerts at Lincoln Center for the Arts Concert Hall in New York and Carnegie Hall in New York, which were widely praised by the industry.

The reporter learned that the concert included a mini version of the opera "Magic Flute" interpretation and Chinese and foreign bel canto cross-border songs singing, the first half by The Peking University Opera Research Institute of Sun Binghui as the piano accompaniment, the second half by the four players who graduated from Yale University Xu Yite, Chen Yiqiu, Xu Yang, Zhang Ziti as the string quartet accompaniment.
