The novel by Tsumura Keisako was first filmed as a co-starring Yui Sakuma and Natsu

(Xiao Ling/Translation) According to Japanese media reports, Tsumura Keiko's debut film "Waiting for the Sunny Day" for "The Boat of The Green Lotus" (who won the 140th Wasagawa Award) has been officially decided to be filmed, and the starring role will be Sakuma Yui. The novel tells the story of a college student (Sakuma) who is about to enter society and confronts the dark side of society (violence, child abuse, abandonment of baby-rearing, etc.) by chance. This will also be the first filmization of Tsumura's works. Also starring with Sakuma is the actress Natsu who has starred in "Your Turn". In addition, the director of this game is the up-and-coming director Yoshino Ryuhei, who has already worked on two feature-length works. Filming is scheduled to begin this spring and will be released nationwide in Japan in 2021.

The show's original film, Waiting for the Sunny Day, was Tsumura's Virgo and won the 21st DazaiJi Awards in 2005 (a single book has been released so far, renamed from my Time, which was also her work). The protagonist of the game is a 22-year-old female college student over 170 cm tall, Hori Bezoshi, who is also a person who is often treated as a freak by others. The actress who will play this role is the actress Sakuma Yui who has attracted attention for her work including the morning drama "Chicks" (2017) and the movie "Being a Hidden Bitch" (2019). In addition, the role of Nanko Nogi, a female college pig who studied at the same university as Sase, will be played by Nao (who was widely acclaimed for her performance in the TV series "Your Turn" in April last year, and whose suspenseful film "Although I Just Lost My Phone 2: The Imprisoned Murderer" will also be released in Japan).

In the film, we can not only see the film humorously depicting the leisurely life she lives every day after she decides to work in a children's welfare home, but also sees her confrontation with the dark side of society.

The film's director and screenwriter, Ryūhei Yoshino, is a well-known director known for his debut novel Red Star (2012), which focuses on the story between a father and son who are obsessed with a cult. In addition, he has also directed films starring Yogiya Kiotaro and Asuna Ishii in the film Spring Is Coming (2015).

The movie "Waiting for the Sunny Day" is scheduled to be released nationwide in Japan in 2021.
