After graduating from normal school in 1926, he taught at Yanghe Primary School and joined the Communist Party of China at the end of 1927. After engaging in the peasant movement, he developed more than 300 members of the peasant association in dongxiang of the county for just over two months, and developed more than 20 people to join the party.

In March 1928, the Suqian County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established, and Ma Lun served as the first secretary of the county party committee. In order to implement the spirit of the instructions of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China to "carry out the struggle against rent, interest and usury", Ma Lun thought that the revolution must first revolutionize his own life before he can be qualified to mobilize the masses. One morning in August of the same year, he mobilized members of the peasant association and poor peasants to go to his own threshing ground to carry out a reasoning struggle against his mother (nicknamed Yang San), exposing his mother-in-law for lending usurious loans to exploit poor peasants, and his father Ma Chengyi accused the peasant association of being a "son fighting Laozi association". The struggle would force his mother-in-law to hand over the contract and agree to a rent reduction and interest reduction, and Ma lun declared on the spot that "whoever has lent the debt in the past will not return to it in the future." Under the leadership of Ma Lun, the peasant associations of the townships in the eastern part of the county resisted rents and interest rates, marched and demonstrated, opposed the harsh taxes and miscellaneous taxes, and cracked down on the money and grain shortage of the Kuomintang in daxingji's "money and grain bureau."

In February 1929, the Suqian Knife Society rioted, and Ma Lun led the members of the peasant associations in the townships of Yundong to cooperate with the Knife Society to attack the county seat, and after failure, went to Shanghai to engage in underground activities.

In 1930, he was ordered to return to Suqian to participate in the work of the Party Committee and the Central Military Commission, and to participate in the formation of the Third Division of the Fifteenth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In order to expand the armed forces, the Suqian County Action Committee and the Military Commission decided to incorporate the landlord armed forces of Tong Xijin, who was a member of the Gengche District Committee of the CPC, but Tong refused to take them in, and was later killed by Ma Lun's people and some guns were confiscated. Bandits Wang Cunjiang and Wang Zhenbang took the bandit Yomalun to fight three trees and a landlord, falsely claiming that they could get a lot of guns to arm the Red Army. Ma Lun believed it to be true, and just after leaving the Tang Qun Wall, the bandits suddenly opened fire on the guerrillas, and Ma Lun was killed on the spot. Xu Huaiyun, Zhao Xuemen, and more than 10 other people, responsible persons of the Central Military Commission, died at the same time. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Civil Affairs Department of Jiangsu Province posthumously recognized Comrade Ma Lun as a martyr and erected monuments in Suqian Maling Park and Daxing Town.
