Wang Jinxi was born in 1923 in a poor peasant family in Chijinpu, Yumen, Gansu. Forced by life, he made a living begging for food at the age of 6 and herded cattle for landlords at the age of 10. In the fall of 1937, when 14-year-old Wang Jinxi was evading to capture Zhuangding, he met a fellow in Chijin who was extracting oil and led him to the oil road, and since then he has formed an indissoluble bond with oil.
In March 1939, the Yumen Oil Mine drilled the first oil well in front of the Chijin Laojun Temple, the Laoyi Well. Since then, private oil extraction is no longer allowed in the oil ditch, and the red gold people who originally collected crude oil in front of the Laojun Temple have become long-term workers, and Wang Jinxi's name has also been included in the "roster of long-term workers". At that time, the Yumen oil mine was operated and controlled by the Kuomintang government, and the perimeter of the mine was fenced off with barbed wire, and workers were not allowed to enter and exit at will. There are garrisons, gendarmes, and mining police brigades in the oil mines, and the miners will be severely beaten by the foreman if they make the slightest mistake.
In 1941, the Communist Party of China established the Yumen Oil Mine Party Branch and the Party Branch of the Oil Mine Workers' School within the oil mine, and the workers began to come into contact with the advanced communist ideology, raised their class consciousness, and gradually developed a sense of resistance in their hearts. Wang Jinxi was in a difficult situation since he was a child, tempered a strong and unyielding will, and was inspired by progressive ideas, and gradually understood the meaning of unity and struggle. On the eve of the founding of New China, the Kuomintang attempted to destroy the Yumen oil mine, and Wang Jinxi actively participated in the struggle to protect the mine.
In 1949, the People's Liberation Army advanced into the northwest. On September 25, the Yumen oil mine was liberated and military control was put under the oil mine. After the liberation of the oil mine, the miners finally gained freedom and became masters, and Wang Jinxi also embarked on the road of hard struggle for China's petroleum industry. At the end of 1964, after the Chinese news media reported the heroic deeds of the Battle of Daqing Oil, Wang Jinxi, the captain of the 1205 drilling team who won the title of "Iron Man", was hailed as the "glorious representative" of the Chinese working class and became a well-known heroic figure in the land of Shenzhou.
On November 15, 1970, Wang Jinxi died of stomach cancer in Beijing 301 Hospital. After his death, Wang Jinxi's name has always been associated with "Industrial Science Daqing".
In 1989, Wang Jinxi, Lei Feng, Jiao Yulu, Shi Laihe and Qian Xuesen were appraised by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee as outstanding representatives of Communist Party members who enjoyed high prestige among the masses since the founding of New China; In 2001, he was selected as one of the top ten Chinese people in 100 years selected by Xinhua News Agency's "Half Moon Talks"; In 2009, he was also selected as one of the "100 Touching Chinese Objects Since the Founding of New China" without suspense.
In the process of fighting heaven and earth, Wang Jinxi shouted many concise and inspiring slogans: "If there are conditions, we must go up, and if there are no conditions to create conditions, we must also go up." ”；“ When the oil workers roar, the earth will also shake three times, and the oil workers will be energetic and not afraid of great difficulties. ”；“ It is better to live twenty years less and desperately take the big oil fields. ”。 He also summed up many impressions of work and life: "When talking about progress, do not forget the party, stress skills, do not forget the masses, talk about achievements, do not forget the majority, talk about shortcomings, do not forget ourselves, talk about the present, do not cut off history." ”；“ All achievements and honors belong to the party and the people, and I can only remember the gap in my own small book. ”；“ The dry work must withstand the inspection of future generations, and it is necessary to be responsible for the oil field for a lifetime. ”...... These quotes are all vivid interpretations of the "Iron Man Spirit". What is the "Iron Man Spirit"? The workers summed it up well: they are not afraid of hardship, they are not afraid of death, they are not for money, they are not for fame, and they are dedicated to the country.

Over the past few decades, countless sons and daughters of China have taken the "iron man" as an example, worked conscientiously and selflessly in the great cause of the motherland's construction, created many miracles that shocked the world, and won honor for the motherland. Therefore, the "iron man spirit" is not only a shadow of the times, it condenses the spiritual outlook of the entire Chinese nation and the entire country, and highlights the national spirit of the Chinese nation to make unremitting efforts to create the future.
