On April 21, The "Expert Symposium on Helping Wuhan Accelerate the Construction of a 'National Economic Center'" jointly organized by Wuhan Socialist College and Jianghan University was held at the Academic Exchange Center of Jianghan University. Eight experts from Wuhan, representatives of innovative enterprises and CPPCC members conducted academic discussions and exchanges on the connotation and realization path of "National Economic Center".

The meeting focused on "enriching and improving the connotation and function of Wuhan's 'national economic center'" and "the implementation strategy of Wuhan's 'national economic center' construction", giving full play to the intellectual advantages of the city's united front talents and helping the work of the whole city center. Experts attending the meeting believe that the goal of accelerating the construction of "five centers" proposed in the city's "14th Five-Year Plan" is an inevitable requirement for basing itself on the new development stage, implementing the new development concept, and serving the construction of a new development pattern and new situation.

Zou Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and professor of the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, made a comprehensive analysis of the opportunities facing Wuhan in building a national economic center; Zhang Huarong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and professor of the School of Business Administration of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, believes that Wuhan has a deep historical precipitation in building a "national economic center", and has the confidence and ability to strengthen the modern industrial system and build a new type of commercial and trade logistics system from the grand perspective of "building a new development pattern". Build the platform of China (Hubei) Free Trade Zone (including Wuhan Free Trade Zone).

Yang Daohong, president of the Hubei Semiconductor Industry Association, analyzed the current situation and prospects of the optical core screen terminal network industry, and proposed to play a good "first move" to help Wuhan's high-quality development. Yuan Yunguang, member of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice president of the Wuhan Development Strategy Research Institute, believes that focusing on the construction of a "national economic center" will lay the strategic position of Wuhan in the new development pattern of the country, and put forward strategies to deal with shortcomings and deficiencies. Professor Chen Lei, a non-partisan representative and dean of the Business School of Jianghan University, proposed that the five major measures of upgrading, innovation, opening up, gathering and radiation should be used to accelerate the construction of the national economic center, and the path for the construction of the "national economic center" was planned. Yu Tianbao, secretary of the party branch of the Municipal New Media Industry Association and associate professor of the School of Management of Hankou University, analyzed the role of the "digital economy" in promoting Wuhan to become a "national economic center" and proposed countermeasures to vigorously develop Wuhan's "digital economy".
