In modern times, many people like to keep a few pots of green roses at home, which can decorate the home and beautify the indoor environment; Second, it can absorb exhaust gas, humidify the air, and be beneficial to health.
Green roses like to be warm and not tolerant of cold, and after a cold winter, many people's hanging orchids have dry yellow leaves and look messy. After the weather warms up in spring, the green rose enters the "crazy growth mode", with many new shoots popping up, which is also the best time for us to raise it. Raise green roses in spring, don't just water, learn the following 4 "tips", let the new shoots quickly grow into oily leaves~
1. Replace the pot once a year
The green rose is strong by nature, the root system is particularly developed, and the more lush the green rose, the larger its root system. As long as there are no major problems in maintenance, usually in about a year, the root system of the green rose will overgrow the entire inside of the pot, looking like the root system is "eaten". When the root system fills the entire pot, the root whiskers will become entangled and interfere with each other's growth. At this time, the root system has no new soil to absorb nutrients, and can only barely absorb some water and trace nutrients. Therefore, green roses that have not been changed for more than one year usually have problems such as stagnant growth, weak branches, and yellowing leaves.
If you want your potted plants to flourish at home, it is best to replace the potting soil once a spring. Take the green lotus out of the pot with the soil, and cut off 1/4~1/3 of the old roots with scissors, which can promote the germination of new roots. Then replant it with new nutrient soil and replace the green rose with fertile new soil.
2. Increase watering appropriately
Most people know that green rose is a plant that likes a humid environment, especially after the spring warming up, green rose begins to accelerate its growth, and the water demand will be higher. However, we should also pay attention to watering not to be excessive. Especially for green roses raised indoors, the indoor environment is poorly ventilated, the soil dry and wet cycle is slow, and excessive watering can easily cause root rot.
To raise green roses in spring, remember to control your hands and don't go to water when you are fine. Observe the soil before each watering and wait until the surface of the soil is white and dry before watering. If the soil surface is not dry, there is no need to water.
3. Regular top dressing
The growth of branches and leaves of green rose, in addition to consuming water, also consumes a lot of nutrients. Relying on a little bit of soil in the pot alone, nutrients are completely insufficient, and we also need to regularly add fertilizer to supplement the nutrition of the plants. If fertilizer is not applied for a long time, green rose will become malnourished after absorbing nutrients in the soil, and the leaves will be yellowed and new leaves will not grow.
Green rose does not pick fertilizers, whether it is a well-rotted variety of organic fertilizer, compound fertilizer, slow-release fertilizer and other solid fertilizers, or liquid fertilizers such as Huaduoduo No. 1 and foliage plant nutrient solution can be used. If you choose solid fertilizer, take a small amount of fertilizer every month and bury it in the soil or sprinkle it on the surface of the soil; If you choose liquid fertilizer, water the root of green rose once every 10~15 days. (The minimum temperature is stable above 15 degrees before fertilizing the green rose)
4. Increase light
Raise green roses in spring, and add some sunlight to it appropriately. However, green rose is a shade-loving plant, must not be exposed to the sun, strong direct light will dry and burn its young shoots. We just need to put it in a bright room, closer to the window or balcony, in a location with plenty of scattered light. Scattered light is more visible to the green rose, which can promote the growth of new shoots, and the leaves grown are shiny and shiny.
