Honduras is a country in Central America, located between North and South America, bordered to the east and south by Nicaragua, El Salvador and the Gulf of Honduras, and to the west and north by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea. The country is a mountainous country with a tropical rainforest climate for most of the region. The population of Honduras is approximately 9.98 million, predominantly Indian, black and mestizos, and the official language is Spanish. Honduras' economy is dominated by agriculture and manufacturing, with major exports including agricultural products such as coffee, bananas, corn and sugar, as well as manufactured goods such as textiles, footwear and electronic equipment. Although Honduras' economic development is relatively slow, the country is rich in tourism resources, with many beautiful beaches, monuments, and nature reserves that attract more and more tourists to come for sightseeing.
