Mother and child

Suxian Ridge is located in the northeast corner of Chenzhou City, belonging to the remnants of the Qitian Mountain Range, formerly known as Niuquan Mountain, with an altitude of more than 500 meters.

Su Xianling is like a big Buddha, with kind eyebrows, graceful and generous, sitting squarely, overlooking the nine-street and eighteen lanes of Chencheng. The Jingxing Temple at the waist of Suxian Ridge and Su Xian Guan at the top of the Ridge are quite famous in Chenzhou City, Pingshi, Lechang, Renhua, Ruyuan, Shaoguan in northern Guangdong, Suichuan, Ninggang and other places in Gannan, and the "18th blessed land in the world" can be described as its "registered trademark".

According to legend, during the Western Han Dynasty, there was a girl surnamed Pan outside the east gate of Chencheng, who washed clothes by the river one day. Suddenly, a five-colored duckweed floated upstream with the water, wrapped around her wrist, and Miss Pan couldn't help but be thrilled, "I am pregnant, and my belly is getting bigger." (Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, 1979 edition of "Su Xian Chapter" of "Liaozhai Zhi Yi"). The legend says: Miss Pan gave birth to a son in the White Deer Cave, and the white crane was covered with feathers, and the white deer knelt on her breasts. The later son took the name Su Yan, and became an immortal and ascended to heaven at the age of thirteen. Su Xian became an immortal three years later and returned to his hometown to visit his mother, telling his mother: There will be a plague epidemic in Chencheng in the late spring next year, and the spring can spring in the well of the duck pond outside the east gate of the city, and the orange leaves next to the well are boiled as soup medicine, and people can drink it to drive away the plague. In the second year, as Su Yan said, Su's mother boiled orange leaves with well water, hung pots to help the world, and saved the crisis, spoon by bowl, and the villagers ate one good one, two good pairs. The villagers praised one after another: the kindness of the child's mother, the fragrance of the spring in the orange well.

The five-colored duckweed, which once floated on the Chenjiang River, often traveled through more than 2,000 years of time and space, flowing slowly in the long river of Chenren's thoughts, and people watched its arrival and departure with great reverence.

This is a jaw-dropping magnificent and magical five-color duckweed, this is a wonderful five-color duckweed that all the world admires! For thousands of years, China once followed the social operation rules of "follow the father at home, marry and follow the husband, and the husband dies from the son", but the romantic Chenren used this strange five-colored duckweed in their local mythology to vigorously praise the mother who had not entered the marriage hall, and worshiped the filial piety gods who lacked the titular father! The legend of Su Xian shines with the light of mother's love, the light of women, and the light of human nature of the "unwed mother", and also shines the light of feudal rebellion. Sometimes, in some cases, people are surprised to find that rebellious thinking is often supernormal, shimmering with elements of innovation. Eclectic, daring to think and do, the quality of wisdom and courage of the ancestors of the Chenren people, with this beautiful legend, lives alive in the fangtou house, and inspires the otherworldly humanistic character.

The legendary Su Yan became an immortal at the age of thirteen, and the villagers built a temple to commemorate him and let him accept the worship of future generations. This is the youngest young immortal I saw when I became an immortal. There is a statue of a young Su Yan in Su Xian Temple: a crescent moon-like face, nova-like eyes, a childish, kind and innocent expression, like a forest breeze, like a valley white cloud.

Higashiyama at a glance

There are thousands of such mountains on the territory of Chenzhou, and they can't be counted. Tens of thousands of years, hundreds of thousands of years have passed, high and low mountains, wind, rain, thunder and lightning, prosperity and decline, firmly rooted in their own territory, rarely shake or shake. Standing, towering, standing, standing, standing... As people listened to, the mountains and dwarves were unmoved, still majestic and quiet. A mountain is just a mountain.

"List of Dongshan" is a word that the literati came up with, which fits well with what I want to talk about in this article, so I used it as a title.

Dongshan, after the tower was built on the top of the mountain, it was slowly called "East Tower Ridge", and East Mountain East Tower Ridge is indeed worth a glance.

Liu Zhan, the sage minister of the Tang Dynasty, studied at Dongshan Academy. In 1187, Ding Feng, the Zhijun of Chenzhou, wrote the poem "Dongshan", which contains a sentence: "The water turns around the mountain and summers the woods, and in the old days, the sages read the study hall." "Chenren Liu Zhan shook his feet from Dongshan and walked through a life of sunshine and moon. Dongshan Academy has been running for hundreds of thousands of years and has cultivated thousands of children of the Chenren. Some students who have gone out of Dongshan Academy have entered the ranks as officials and some have opened the library to teach. I think that in the lanes and lanes, the big houses and dwarfs, the small merchants and vendors on the water signs to help note the accounts, and the village master Ye Lao wrote dozens or hundreds of letters with a handful, it should be praised as the achievements of Dongshan Academy without shame.

At the beginning of 1928, the CPC Chenxian County Party Committee was stationed here. On the day of the "return to whiteness" incident, when Zeng Zhi, a member of the county party committee, learned of the bandits' riot and rushed to the Dongtaling county party committee office, Secretary Xia Mingzhen and other cadres had already gone to the West Street Temple of Literature to attend the meeting. Zeng Zhi ran down the mountain to West Street, and the tragedy had already happened. The killing sound inside the Temple of Literature is loud, and the saber rattling outside the Temple of Literature is tense. Zeng Zhi found a horse in a panic, and quickly went to Yongxing to find Chen Yi for help. After listening to Zeng Zhi's cry in Yongxing Bitang, Chen Yi said in a loud voice: Anti-water, anti-water! The thugs are seeking revenge! Immediately arranged to return to Chenzhou, Chen Yi personally led the elite division to the south, conquered Chencheng in one fell swoop, and quelled the bloody three-day white riot.

Sometime in 1971, the East Tower was blown down and the bricks were carried to build a bomb shelter. East Tower Ridge lost East Tower. It was not until a few years later that another stele pavilion was built on the site, and for more than ten years, the ruins of this place made the faces of Chenzhou readers gloomy.

In 1988, the anniversary of the Shonan Uprising, the Monument to the Shonan Uprising and the Chenzhou Martyrs' Poetry Gallery were completed and cut the ribbon in Dongtaling. On July 30, 2010, the Shonan Uprising Memorial Hall was completed and opened to the public in Houshan Mountain, East Taling.

…………

There must be a lot of legends worth remembering, and there will be new stories that can be written about, and we can only leave a regret and an expectation in the hearts of people who care about the changes in Dongshan.

On Higashi Mountain are buried my grandparents and fathers. They all came to Chenzhou from far away to find food and work here. In the end, they relied on the East Mountain and entered the soil for a long time, which became an eternal sacrifice for the descendants of the family, and also made their descendants have an inextricable connection with this mountain and this city.

Such a mountain carries so many memories and narratives. For the mountains, people should pay respect; To people, the blessings of the mountain's mind are all unspoken.

But, after all, it is a mountain with a story. (What mountain has no story?) )

Moreover, it is an extraordinary mountain. (There are more "extraordinary mountains"!) )

Of course, it's just a mountain.

South Tower Bells

The bells of the four archways where Chencheng East Street, West Street, South Street and North Street converge echo in the busy city, with the noise of the city and the temperature. The bell of the South Tower on the hillside on the south side of Yuhou Street Street should be cool, and it is an earthly sigh of the gentle sound of the mountain breeze.

In the past, the South Pagoda was built on the South Mountain of Chencheng (renamed Nanta Ridge after the tower was built), "next to a temple, there are several nuns, and green lanterns and wooden fish spend time together." Being a monk, being otherworldly, was a spiritual conversion in old times. For some monks and nuns, it is devotion to Buddhist teachings, while for others, it means seclusion. I often think that it is not important to enter the Buddhist gate with what state of mind, but what is important is that the daily homework of green lights and yellow scrolls, morning bells and evening drums can make the colors of the lives of monks and nuns more brilliant and the form of life more thoughtful. If so, who would promise them? God? God has been invisible and silent, can they find him? If not, is piety and perseverance necessary? When these questions came to mind, the words of a senior Buddhist believer were like an empowerment: And eat clams, ask the fox! The nuns in the temple next to the South Pagoda "spend time with green lanterns and wooden fish", and naturally have unwavering beliefs, which need no doubt.

When the bell rings gently by these women with strong ambitions and devout protection of their dreams, those who can hear it will hold their breath and look up, and their hearts will be solemn and quiet. People who have read books among the residents of Chencheng who often listen to the bells of the South Pagoda, when discussing the meaning of the words with their two or three confidants after tea and dinner, will say: The bells of the South Pagoda can hear the renunciation and depression of the red face inside, hear the bitterness and perseverance of life entering the yellow season, and hear the various thoughts and blessings of the continuous family affection to the earthly world.

The banquet of life cannot be all big fish and meat, but also green vegetables and tofu. Intense brilliance is a life form, and peace and indifference are the best conditions of life. The life of the bell-ringer does not need to be imitated, but understood; Needless to say, but blessed.

The bell rings coolly, people's hearts are quiet, and the world is peaceful. The bell of the South Tower used to accompany the mountain city to spend the long years, the poor also accompanied, the rich also accompany, the wind also accompanied, the rain also accompanied, and now although the bell no longer rings, the afterglow is still there, and the reverberation is still around the beam.

A city with cool bells is patient with boredom, accomplished, and blessed.
