Biography
Alai Aydar Khan, born in 1990 in the Altay region of Xinjiang, graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music and is a musician.
In 2009, he participated in CCTV's "Avenue of Stars" and won the title of "Outstanding Singer of the Year", and officially entered the show business circle in 2010; in 2013, he participated in the "Xinjiang Eighth Youth Song Competition" competition and won the champion of the pop group; and in the same year, he participated in the competition of the Oriental Satellite TV talent entertainment program "The Voice of Chinese Dreams", and finally won the sixth place in the national finals.
In 2014, he participated in the competition of the CCTV-3 music reality show "China Is Listening" and finally won the top five of the national finals; in 2015, he won the "Chinese Golden Melody Award" Outstanding Singer-Songwriter Award, and in the same year, he launched his first solo album "For You"; in 2016, he launched his personal single "Want to Take You Fly".
In 2017, as a music partner of singer Di Maxi, he participated in the reality show "Singer" of Hunan Satellite TV's original singer competition, and launched his second solo music album in the same year, which was also the first Kazakh album; at the end of 2018, he launched his third solo music album "Actually I Am a Play Rock".
Musical journey
When it comes to my musical journey, I have to start with the name I took when I was a child, when there was a band called Aray, and the year I was about to be born, the band came to Urumqi for the first time to hold a concert, and my father watched this concert in Urumqi on the way home from playing in the mainland.
First of all, because the Aray band was my parents' favorite band, and secondly, my father was lucky enough to attend their concert and take a group photo on stage to send flowers, and I was about to be born, they felt that it was a kind of fate.
The name Alai means the dawn of dawn (sunrise) in Kazakh, and before I was born, the only boy in our family was my brother, and my birth brought him companionship, and this companionship was as warm as the dawn of dawn, so he named me Aray.
Because my father was a judo coach, I was more closely related to sports than music when I was a child, and my earliest contact with music was the lullaby that my grandmother sang to me. I began to watch judo competitions with my father at the age of four or five, began practicing judo at the age of seven or eight, and began to practice professionalism at the age of thirteen.
In 2003, he was exchanged to the national junior training team in Kazakhstan and trained for three years, and in 2005, due to a car accident that caused a serious fracture of the leg, after returning to China for treatment, the doctor told me that if I continued to take judo as a profession, the results would not be too ideal, at most I could only be a coach.
I was only 16 years old at the time, and my heart was very uncomfortable, because I wanted to continue my father's unfulfilled dream from the bottom of my heart, but I didn't expect that this wish had been shattered when I was 16 years old, and I didn't speak for a few months.
After becoming a professional athlete, I owe a lot of culture classes, and now I have to go back to class, these sudden changes make me more stressed, emotionally unstable, my family even took me to see a psychologist, the doctor suggested that I take a break for a while, most of the time I spend my rest listening to songs and watching movies, I will also try to sing while listening to songs.
Because I grew up under the influence of song and dance since I was a child, but I didn't have time to obsess over music before, I had plenty of leisure time during the break, and I found my sensitivity to melody in the depths of my heart, and when I heard a song, I would have a new idea in my heart, and then I began to write lyrics, improvise melodies, grope for how to write lyrics, and then I fell deeper and deeper, and my love for music was out of control.
In high school, I decided to go to Urumqi, and during my school days I lived with my brother's good brother Zukesi, who was a student of the music department of the Xinjiang Academy of Arts, and it was he who took me into the world of music, and in my eyes he was already my brother.
In the past few years in Urumqi, I have gradually become more and more musicalians, and I have learned various styles with my predecessors in different music fields, which I like, some people prefer a certain style, but I like it as long as it sounds good.
At that time, there were many bands in Urumqi high schools and colleges, and I also formed a band in 36, called kox (tourist), which I want to express is "wandering people".
Back to school
Since my father quit the team in 1998 and started going to the sea to do business, in 2007 I began to help him take care of his busy business, and the gap between me and my peers is gradually getting bigger, and I feel that I need to communicate with them more.
It was a sophomore year of high school, and most of the topics they talked about were related to college, so I gradually had the idea of going to college and started high school life again after consulting with my family.
My senior year of high school was very happy, playing music in class leisure, and finally I was lucky to be admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music, and in the same year CCTV also invited me to participate in the "Walk of Fame", living up to expectations and winning the title of "Excellent Singer", the college entrance examination was extremely lucky for me that year, and at the same time I also began my life of north drift.
In the past, I wanted to go crazy to Beijing because there was a rock village in Huoying at that time, and I really longed for it, but unfortunately, the rock village I went to was demolished, and then I chose to sing in Houhai, take classes during the day to study and arrange music, and perform in Houhai at night.
The first company I signed in 2010 was Called Guoyun Media, and I made several of my singles during the two years I worked with this company.
To be honest, the literary and artistic youth in Beijing are not too good, and I have become accustomed to not asking my family for money, the prize money for the competition and the money saved when doing business, I just spent everything when I arrived in Beijing, and then I began to sing and earn money to maintain my life, but then my body began to deteriorate, the hair loss was serious, and the figure was unbalanced.
The motivation to stick to your musical dreams
When I was 7 years old, my grandmother died, because I was going to go to elementary school, my grandmother and I went to the city to live together, just over a month after the school started, my grandmother left me because of a car accident, at that time I couldn't accept it, I felt that my grandmother died because I had to go to school, because I was not good at expressing, and when I was sad, I would only find a small corner to cry.
Two years after my grandmother's death, with China's first animated film called "Baolian Lantern", my mother and I agreed to rub every five cents every time, and then save money to watch this movie, my family still does not know this, then watching a movie is still a relatively luxurious thing, the most touching picture of this movie will appear CoCo Li Wei's "365 Days of Thinking of You", since then CoCo Li Wei has become my idol.
One afternoon in 2013, I was tired from the long time of arranging the music, and even a little bit of a trance, so I wanted to change my mood in a bustling place, and when I came to a big screen, I saw CoCo teacher promoting the "Chinese idol" program, and she had to be a mentor throughout the whole process.
After that, I signed up for "Chinese Idol" and sang my own original song "Brother", I was looking forward to The CoCo teacher's evaluation of my work, when she said to me that if you open a concert in the future, I will definitely buy tickets to see it, I was almost happy and cried, and then I was promoted from Beijing to Shanghai headquarters and started my Chinese idol career.
The summer of 2013 is very meaningful, all members of Chinese idol should not forget those four months, every Sunday to the audience live broadcast a week of training results, this high-intensity state of growth accelerated my growth, during which I personally adapted and sang CoCo teacher's "365 Days of Thinking of You" was well received, near the end of the show CoCo teacher proposed to cooperate with me, grateful for this summer.
The night before dawn
After this summer, I was tied up by a contract, and at the end of 2013, there were some disputes with the second cooperative company because of the contract, and because of the millions of debts after a series of complicated things such as lawsuits, my exposure on Chinese idol could not be continued, and China's entertainment market updated so quickly, so my exposure was dried alive.
Later, I participated in "China Is Listening" and won the top five of the year, I gritted my teeth and made my first album "For You", because of the lawsuit, I could not release a new single, here you are the listeners who are waiting for my songs.
Through this album, I began to participate in commercial performances and variety shows, my works warmed me, in 2015 I had the privilege of being able to go to Vienna and other countries in Europe on behalf of some actors of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe to tour Vienna and other countries in Europe on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, this trip is of great significance to me, contact with different cultures My musical literacy has also been sublimated, so many dark nights in exchange for the center of art Vienna is quite worthwhile.
A short summary of the Road to Music
In 2001, Mr. CoCo won the Academy Award for the song "Moonlight Lover" and sang "Moonlight Lover" at the Oscar-winning scene, after which CoCo teacher was known as "Chinese Light", this song is of great significance to CoCo teacher, can be described as the light of life.
In 2016, Ms. CoCo participated in "I Am a Singer" and decided to revisit "Moonlight Lover" on the night of the King of Songs, at the same time, she entrusted the arrangement of this song to me to complete, and Mr. CoCo won the title of Song King after singing "Moonlight Lover", and I still can't describe the mood at that time.
At the beginning of 2016 I signed a new agency called Dream of course, it was a pleasure to work with this company, my second and third albums were made during the cooperation with this company, the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017, for me is a small summary of the music career, in 2017 with Di Maxi and participated in the recording of "Singer", but also became a small hill in my acting career.
After participating in "Singer", there was a period of time when I was very stressed, I began to be depressed, initially listless and spiritless, and then it was serious insomnia, which was a long-term accumulation process, the university did not have much rest, the university did not graduate to start participating in variety shows, the end of the program was a lawsuit, the debt repayment was indeed very difficult, continuous performance, sleep time is very small.
After that, my creation began to have problems, extremely dissatisfied with what I wrote, before I was bitter and tired, but I never panicked, outside of creation is outside the body, music is in me, this vicious circle that makes me panic has been maintained for a long time.
In March 2018, I signed an agreement with the company, before December 31, 2018, I was going to hand over my third album to the company, I had been thinking about it since March, but until October, I didn't even write a single note, I watched the time countdown, I was anxious, I wanted to change to an unfamiliar environment to forget something.
Before I signed this contract, I promised myself that this album would do electronic music, the first two albums were band-type music, and the third album I did electronic music, because some of the moods in 2018 were more suitable for expressing music such as Rap.
One day I began to be unable to sleep at night, the symptoms of insomnia continued to worsen, and finally so serious that the organs began to lose consciousness, almost because of the inability to sleep and sudden death, this is because of long-term depression and day and night reversal caused physical and mental exhaustion, fortunately, when I met the nobles, I came back to life.
Thanks to these experiences, I came back to life, although still slowly adjusting, although the body is very poor, but the mental state is very good, after experiencing a life and death, the inspiration is bursting, with half a month to make my third album, now willing to mention debt, life and death these things, because I have been relieved, the night has passed.
Today's society is very impetuous, there are very few people who listen to music with their hearts, and even fewer people who make music with their hearts, for most people music is just a sound, I don't care what others think, I just want to express myself.
These songs are comparable to my diaries, and when I get old and listen to these songs, I can recall the beautiful details, I have a lot of diaries to flip through, and these spiritual food is the story between me and the music.
When you are still young and pursue what you want, even if it backfires, there are dark days in the best times, and there are shining times in the years that are still in the past, and you must believe that everything is the best arrangement.
