According to the football competition regulations of the National Games, the competition enters the cross-elimination round from the second round of the group stage. The Olympic team is in Group A with the hosts Shaanxi, Jiangsu and Liaoning. In the group stage, the united team defeated Shaanxi 1:0 and Jiangsu 2:1, and entered the semi-finals one round ahead of schedule with the first place in the group. In the semi-finals, the united team won the Beijing team 4:0 and met the shanghai team, the champion of the previous National Games, in the final.

This is Li Mengwen's third time on the green field of the National Games. Debuted in the 12th National Games U18 women's football competition in 2013, Li Mengwen won the championship with the Jiangsu Youth Women's Football Team, and in the key championship and runner-up finals, Li Mengwen also contributed a goal, and finally Jiangsu U18 Women's Football Team defeated Henan U18 Women's Football Team 2:0 to win the U18 category championship. Four years later, at the 13th National Games in 2017, Li Mengwen has entered the Jiangsu women's football team and won the third place with the team. Another four years have passed, Li Mengwen has grown into a strong defender of the Chinese women's football team, following the Chinese women's football team to the Olympic arena, becoming a learning model for the little women's football girls in Suzhou.
