The old Red Army Zhong Ming, a native of Yingxia Village, Yinkeng Town, Yudu County, Jiangxi, was born in January 1916. During the Long March, he was sent to the morgue three times due to a head injury, but each time he miraculously survived, and when interviewed by reporters after his retirement, the most common sentence said by the old-timers was: This history can never be forgotten.

In April 1934, Chiang Kai-shek concentrated 11 divisions to attack Guangchang, Jiangxi, the gateway to the Central Soviet Region. Foreign military adviser Li De ignored the reality that the enemy was strong and we were weak, and wanted to protect Guangchang to the death. Thus, a bitter war of eggs hitting stones began.

"In the Battle of Guangchang, our division was at the front, bandaging, medicating, rescuing the wounded, and I don't remember how many people were killed or wounded in that war, but I remember that there were too many wounded to bandage," Zhong Ming recalled.

"Carbonated acid, water oxygenic acid, aspirin peglin acid, preparatory ointment disinfection and sterilization, antiseptic and antiseptic". In order to remember the names of various medicines and consumables needed for the wounded to bandage, Zhong Ming compiled these medicines and consumables into Hakka mountain songs, and until he was old, Zhong Ming could sing them word for word.

The erroneous command of the "left" adventurists led to the defeat of the Red Army after the Battle of Guangchang, losing a large number of troops, forcing it to the point where it could not stand on its feet. With the shrinking area of the Soviet zone, the Red Army had to prepare for an expedition. Beginning on October 16, 1934, the Red Army began to cross the river from eight ferry crossings in Yudu.

"At that time, no one knew where to go, and I didn't have time to say goodbye to my family, so I hurriedly followed the army and began the long march." Zhong Ming, who was mixed in an army of 86,000 people, did not have time to say goodbye to his parents, reluctantly left his homeland, and embarked on a long journey of life and death.

This time, Zhong Ming never saw his parents again. "My parents gave birth to me, but they didn't even drink a sip of my water...".

At the beginning of 1935, after the Red Army arrived in Wujiang, the organs were streamlined, and Zhong Ming took the initiative to sign up to serve as a messenger in the fourth company of the 12th Regiment of the 4th Division of the 3rd Army Corps. Subsequently, the troops occupied Zunyi, but immediately after, Zunyi was occupied by Kuomintang troops. In order to ensure the smooth convening of the Zunyi Conference, Zhong Ming's unit was ordered to take the commanding heights controlled by the enemy. After a thrilling hand-to-hand fight, Zhong Ming encountered the threat of death for the first time in his life-

"The troops gave a death order to occupy that commanding height. As soon as we set off, the enemy planes began to drop bombs above our heads, and that time it was very dangerous, a bomb came down, and there was a loud 'boom'. I hid under the ridge and a very heavy object hit me on the back, shattering my head, and I thought it was over. At that time, it hurt all over, but when I touched it, it turned out to be mud. ”

In April 1936, when the Red Army crossed the Yellow River eastward, it encountered the Kuomintang Yan Xishan troops, and after many hard battles, the Red Fourth Division occupied a hill in Guojiazhuang, Sanjiao Town. Subsequently, the Red Army units were surrounded by Kuomintang troops who rushed to reinforce, and there was only one exit to break through. Just as Zhong Ming and his comrades were charging down the mountain, "Swoosh", a bullet hit Zhong Ming. This bullet entered from the corner of his left eye and came out of the middle of his head, and Zhong Ming immediately fell unconscious.

Later, Zhong Ming recalled: "There was still a hole here, and the brain pulp came out, and blood flowed all over the place. ”

Zhong Ming, who was in great difficulty and immortal, was carried back to the rear hospital by his comrades, and while Zhong Ming was still conscious, the military doctor asked his opinion, whether to undergo surgery?

Zhong Ming, who worked as a hygienist, knew that he had broken bones on his head and would be difficult to survive without surgery. But if the operation is performed, the surgical conditions in the battlefield are too poor, and there is not even anesthetic, and it is also nine deaths.

Zhong Ming still chose surgery. The pain of that operation is still unforgettable for Zhong Ming in his later years.

"I said that if the operation fails, my life will be handed over to the party and the people, so I will fight." During surgery, the scalpel makes a 'click' sound when cutting, and without anesthesia, the pain cannot be described. ”

After the operation, Zhong Ming passed out three times. The chief surgeon shook his head repeatedly: "Try your best, send it to the morgue." ”

In this way, Zhong Ming was pushed into the morgue three times. Fortunately, Zhong Ming eventually survived. Recalling the situation in his later years, the old-timers smiled and said: "He said you didn't go to the morgue?" How did it come back? Why don't I come back? I'm not dead again. He said you don't know, you've been to the morgue three times. Hehe! ”

Zhong Ming relied on tenacious willpower to create a miracle of life. After the operation, Zhong Ming stayed in the hospital for more than a year before he was completely better, because this time he was injured, and Zhong Ming still had no hair on the top of his head when he was old, leaving a large scar.

When he was discharged from the hospital, the doctor said to him: "It's a miracle that your bullet went through the eye, came out of the brain, and the brain pulp came out, and the person survived." ”

Zhong Ming replied humorously: "I am a big person, and I can survive, which shows that there are still many things waiting for me to do." ”

After liberation, Zhong Ming served as the county magistrate, the director of the construction bureau, and the director of the civil affairs bureau in the northeast. In March 1970, after retiring, Zhong Ming returned to Yudu County to settle down.

After Zhong Ming retired, reporters interviewed Zhong Ming many times in his later years. Recalling the past glory years, Zhong Lao talked very happily. When he saw that the reporter had a manuscript about him in his hand, Zhong Lao immediately asked his lover He Ying to read it for him and listen to it: "Xinhua News Agency, Nanchang, 4 August, the train is in the middle of the train, Ma Xiaoxiao, the army crossed the Dudu River in the night, and rushed towards the west of the sunset..."

Zhong Ming and his wife He Ying met in 1947, and over the years, the two have been close to each other and respectful of each other, He Ying told reporters: "After we got married, he often told his children the history of the Long March and how many soldiers were sacrificed on the Long March." He often told young people that they should look far, do not think about personal interests every day, and put the interests of the country and the people first. At all times, remember that only hard work can create value. ”

In June 2015, the old Red Army Zhong Ming passed away, exactly 100 years old.
