author:The Hidden Man of the West Mountain

In the spring of 1959, a body was found in the Erzaohong area of Nanhui County, Jiangsu Province, which had swollen and decomposed, and could not be identified.

Later, it was salvaged and buried by fishermen on the spot. The following year, when the police investigated the incident, the fishermen revealed the truth. Then he went to the burial site to dig up the body, the Parker pen in the suit and the traces of a broken leg bone, proving that it was Shi Hua, a filmmaker who had been missing for more than two years.

For Shi Hua, many people are very unfamiliar, and many people have not seen the old movies he performed, so they are not interested, which is natural.

I write this article with a feeling that it will not attract the attention and appreciation of many people. But out of love and sympathy for this old filmmaker, I feel obliged and responsible to use the platform of Toutiao to show his short life; Demonstrate his merits and achievements in the film industry.

Filmmaker Shi Hua

Why is Shi Wei a filmmaker. Because he is not only a film actor, but also a screenwriter and director.

Shi Hua, formerly known as Shi Yutao. Born in 1915, Tianjin. Since childhood, the family failed, and when he was one year old, he was carried by his mother and went to Beijing with his father to make a living. When I was a child, my family was quite solid, and Shi Huashu read until junior high school. His father was unemployed, and Shi dropped out of school, so he had to go out to work. He has worked as a tea housekeeper, servant, and station conductor.

Engaging in low-level work laid a solid foundation for Shi Hua's future acting career. Therefore, the roles he plays, as well as the roles he wrote, directed, and played, are basically ordinary people, small people in the city, so they are very appropriate and realistic.

Bo Le, who entered the show business industry, is a film actor Blue Horse. In the beginning, I just did some service work in the crew. Later, he tried to participate in stage plays, playing small people who ran tricks.

Slowly he developed a strong interest in being an actor, and at first he only paid attention to and imitated other people's performances, and sometimes fell into personal thinking. Since then, his acting career has begun, and he is out of control.

From 1934 to 1945, Shi Wei was mostly active on the drama stage, playing many flesh-and-blood roles. such as playing Old Lady Gao in the drama "Home"; starred Wen Tianxiang in "Songs of Positive Qi". In addition, he also starred in "Begonia", "Lin Chong" and so on.

Years of drama performance have enabled him to accumulate rich acting experience and improve his acting level, so he is a fish in water and handy in his future film career.

Shi Wei created countless works in his lifetime. Here we only introduce that he wrote, directed and acted in two feature films; a feature film written and directed by himself; He directed a drama feature film and a children's feature film.

The first self-written, directed and acted feature film was: "My Life", adapted from Lao She's original book, which was released in 1950.

In the film, he played an old policeman in the old police station of Beiping City. The film shows an elderly policeman who recalls the difficult life of a resident of a courtyard house, and he helps a guerrilla escape, and finally his son embarks on the road of revolution.

The film not only reflects the living conditions of the working people, but also shows the working people fighting against the arrangements of fate, and finally sees the light in the darkness.

The second self-written, directed and acted war feature film is: "Guan Lian Chang", released in 1951.

The film mainly depicts the eighth company of a certain PLA, in the battle to liberate Shanghai, deep behind enemy lines and attack an enemy command post. The command post guarded by the enemy is an orphanage with hundreds of orphans in the building, and the commander of the Guan Company, played by Shi Hua, decides to give up shelling and switch to white-knuckle combat, eventually protecting hundreds of orphans and destroying all the enemies. Company Commander Shi died heroically.

The third self-written and directed film: "Night Voyage to the Sea of Fog" is also Shi Hua's last film

The film is based on a true story. It mainly describes a passenger ship shipwrecked, a naval commissar stepped forward, commanded all the returning soldiers to calm the passengers, maintain the balance of the hull, and held hands to cast a human wall, and was finally rescued.

In addition, Shi Wei directed the children's feature film "Chicken Feather Letter" in 1953; In 1955, he directed the Huangmei opera film "Tianxian Match". These two movies are very familiar to the older generation of audiences, and the details will not be repeated.

In 1957, when he wanted to show his skills in the film industry, Shi Wei was branded as a "rightist". Every day I was criticized, I wrote and checked, endlessly. None of this broke his will, but not letting him work on his favorite movies was a devastating blow to him.

Shi Wei only married in 1953, marrying Peking Opera actor Tong Baoling (sister of Tong Xiangling, the actor of Yang Zirong in "Outsmart the Tiger Mountain")

Less than three years after their marriage, Shi Wei suffered political persecution and was depressed all day. His beloved wife persuaded him, and it was difficult to solve the pain in his heart. One day, his wife rushed to the unit to perform, and before going out, Shi Wei hugged his wife tightly and kissed her, unwilling to let go. His wife advised him: if you want to open something, everything will pass, and then go to work.

In fact, at this time, Shi Wei had already made up his mind to die. He put on his coat, put on his neck and walked out of the house. The date was frozen in mid-November 1957.

Shi walked absentmindedly on the streets of Shanghai, and on the way met a colleague from Shanghai Film Studio, and the colleague asked him where he went? He repeatedly said "I can't act anymore"、、、、 confused his colleagues, and he didn't ask any more questions.

Shi Wei came to the Shanghai pier, bought a ticket, boarded the "Democracy No. 3 passenger ship" bound for Ningbo that participated in "Night Voyage of the Sea of Fog", and has since disappeared.

Shi Hua's departure caused a great sensation in Shanghai. Rumors are spreading, some say: Shi waved to Hong Kong; Others say: Shi waved to Taiwan; Even more outrageous: Shi Wei defected to the United States.

Time has gradually stopped in the midst of controversy. And only the worry and nostalgia are the newlywed wife Tong Baoling.

There is no one alive, no corpse in death. Only the wife does not believe those rumors, because she knows her husband too well. Acting, movies are the soul of the husband, the soul has gone, what is the use of the secondary body?! An ominous haunts haunt my mind.

Things turn to the beginning: the body found by the old fisherman is Shi Hua. That night in mid-November 1957, the ship sailed to a place he recognized, and he stood on the deck, looking at the raging sea, disappointed in human nature, and reluctant to art, jumped down at the age of 42.

People in the film industry have not forgotten this "movie idiot". In 1995, Shi Wei won the Chinese Film Century Award at the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of world cinema and the 90th anniversary of Chinese cinema jointly organized by the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television and the China Film Association. This may give a little comfort to the departing stone.
