The courtiers beside the Heavenly King Hong Xiuquan——— the Zan Wang who was the governor of the dynasty who did not practice martial arts

author:The descendants of the four fields on history

Friends who are familiar with Chinese history will find an interesting historical phenomenon, that is, whether it is the Ming monarch or the quack master, there are slaves they trust very much, and these people talk about martial arts are useless, but the emperor trusts them very much.

The representative figures among them have been represented in all dynasties, such as Xunshi Ji, Deng Tong and others in the Han Dynasty, and Pei Yu and Gao Lux in the Tang Dynasty...

This was also true for the leaders of the peasant uprisings. The reason why the vigorous Taiping Rebellion led by Hong Xiuquan, Yang Xiuqing, and others "flourished and died suddenly" was, first, a problem with their system, and second, a problem with their employment.

Hong Xiuquan has been king since the Jintian Uprising, and there is a courtier beside him who is not good at martial arts, this person is the one who knows all of Hong Xiuquan's bad habits, and is known as the roundworm of the stomach of the king of heaven. Don't see that he doesn't write a pen and can't carry a gun into battle, but he is Hong Xiuquan's most trusted person since the Jintian Uprising and has been building the capital Tianjing.

After the "Change of Tianjing", Hong Xiuquan used the outstanding young generals Chen Yucheng and Li Xiu to become former generals and later generals to stabilize the position of the Taiping Army, but at the same time he granted Yang Xiuqing's former Chinese army chief general to mediocre talent. Not to mention, Hong Xiuquan also gave Meng Deen the newly established post of zhengshi commander of the head of the imperial class, Chen Yucheng, who had the merit of a hundred battles, was named the zhengshi leader, and Li Xiu became the deputy commander. In view of the rebellion of the kings, Hong Xiuquan vowed that the kingdom of heaven would never be crowned king from now on.

Meng Deen is a Zhuang ethnic group from Pingnan, Guangxi, originally named Meng Detian, who was renamed Meng Deen because he entered the "worship God Sect" to avoid the sky. He was eight years older than Hong Xiuquan, and he was over forty when he joined the "God Worship Church." Since he and his son Meng Shiyong were baptized by the "Heavenly Brother" Xiao Chaogui when they joined the society, their father and son are also old members of this organization. This point is incomparable to Chen Yucheng and Li Xiucheng, who have made great achievements in battle, because they both joined the Taiping Army during the Jintian Uprising.

But with this so-called old qualification alone, there is no chance to get close to Hong Xiuquan infinitely. However, God gave him a great opportunity, and he also needed to thank Xiao Chaogui, because on the eve of the uprising, in order to control the real power of the Taiping Army, Xiao Chaogui played a double reed play with Yang Xiuqing. That is, Yang and Xiao respectively ordered Hong Xiuquan, the first chief of the Taiping Army, and Feng Yunshan, the second chief, to go to the Huazhou Shanren Village of Pingnan County to "avoid ji" in the form of "Heavenly Father" and "Heavenly Brother" Linfan.

Hong Xiuquan and Feng Yunshan found out about Hu Yihuang's house, and they immediately sent elite soldiers to surround Hu Yihuang's family. After Yang Xiuqing received the news from Hu Yihuang, he immediately personally led 2,000 congregations to Huazhou Mountain Village to rescue them, and Meng Deen was among them.

This battle, which is recorded in the history of the Kingdom of Heaven, is called the "Battle of the Lord." In the battle, Meng Deen took the lead, and blamed the Qing soldiers for being corrupt, so Meng Deen was the first to rush to Hong Xiuquan's side. Faced with the bloodied Mundeen Hongxiu was all grateful, and since then he has firmly remembered this person.

From the Jintian Uprising, Meng Deen served as the Heavenly King's imperial guard, until the Taiping Army set the capital of Tianjing, all the way down Meng Deen was an official and prosperous. After entering Tianjing, Meng Deen was made a spring official and a prime minister, in charge of the women's camp, specializing in the task of selecting a princess for the king of heaven and others.

Don't look at Meng Deen, Wen Wu is not good at it, but he knows human nature well, and since he was in charge of the women's camp, he regularly sent beautiful women from various royal palaces. This was not only liked by the king, but also by other kings. In this way, Meng Deen became the most favored person around the Heavenly King Hong Xiuquan.

After the "Change of Tianjing", the personnel of the Kingdom of Heaven changed greatly, and Meng Deen was the first person to be reused by Hong Xiuquan. From then on, he became the de facto ruler of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom above 10,000 people under Hong Xiuquan, even Chen Yucheng and Li Xiucheng were under him.

When Hong Xiuquan's brother Hong Renxuan returned to Tianjing from Hong Kong, Hong Xiuquan forgot his oath to never be crowned king, and only a few months later, he made him a god king and took charge of the dynasty.

Soon after this, in order to calm the dissatisfaction of the meritorious ministers, Hong Xiuquan successively named Chen Yu as King Ying and Li Xiu as King Zhong, while he did not forget his favored courtier Meng Deen. Meng Deen was made King of Zan, and his status was only below Hong Renxuan, Chen Yucheng, and Li Xiucheng.

But Meng Shiyong was also a mediocre man, and he died of an illness in 1861, thus avoiding the demise of the Taiping Rebellion.

After Meng Deen's death, his son Meng Shiyong was made the Prince of Youzan by Hong Xiuquan, and until the fall of the Taiping Rebellion, Meng Shiyong was a person trusted and used by Hong Xiuquan.
