In order to further facilitate the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel, it is decided to make the following adjustments to the visa and entry policies for foreigners in China from midnight on March 15, 2023 Beijing time:
1. Restore the entry function of visas issued before March 28, 2020 and still within the validity period.
2. Visa authorities stationed abroad have resumed the issuance of various types of visas for foreigners to China, and the specific requirements are detailed in the instructions for applying for certificates.
3. Port visa authorities resume the issuance of all types of port visas that meet the statutory reasons.
4. Restore visa-free entry into Hainan, visa-free for cruise ships in Shanghai, visa-free entry into Guangdong for foreigners from Hong Kong and Macao, and visa-free entry into Guangzhou and Guilin for ASEAN tourist groups.
In addition, many countries have recently officially announced that Chinese travelers do not need to undergo a new crown nucleic acid test to enter China, which makes many people look forward to when to go to China to remove this restriction.
On March 13, the repatriation policy was further relaxed.
Chinese embassies in many countries (including Italy, France, etc.) issued the latest announcement, allowing personnel going to China to replace nucleic acid testing with antigen tests (including self-tests with kits), or one of the two.
According to the development of the new crown epidemic situation and the need to facilitate personnel exchanges, from March 15, 2023 local time, personnel on direct flights to China from various countries are allowed to replace nucleic acid tests with antigen tests (including self-tests with kits). In order to facilitate passengers to prepare before traveling, embassies in various countries have updated the "Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control of Travelers to China", please read carefully and follow it to avoid affecting the itinerary.
Guidelines for epidemic prevention and control for travelers to China
1. Remote testing: take a nucleic acid test within 48 hours before boarding or use an antigen kit for testing, and only those with a negative result can come to China.
2. Customs declaration: After obtaining a negative test result, fill in the "Chinese People's Republic of China Exit/Entry Health Declaration Card" through the WeChat mini program "Customs Passenger Fingertip Service" or the online version (https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn).
3. Airlines are not required to check the nucleic acid test certificate and antigen test results before boarding.
4. Epidemic prevention on board: Please insist on wearing masks during the flight, do a good job of personal protection, and reduce the risk of infection.
5. Entry quarantine: After arriving at the port, complete the necessary customs clearance procedures with the customs health declaration code. Customs will conduct sampling tests according to a certain proportion and test people with abnormal health declarations or symptoms such as fever. Those with positive test results shall be quarantined at home or in residence or seek medical treatment in accordance with the requirements of the notice. If the result is negative, the Customs shall carry out routine quarantine in accordance with the Border Health Quarantine Law and other laws and regulations. Those whose health declaration is normal and there is no abnormality in routine quarantine at the port may enter the society.
6. Territorial epidemic prevention: Passengers should strictly abide by the requirements of territorial epidemic prevention and control after entering the country.
