Orioles belong to typical arboreal birds, rarely active on the ground, orioles usually integrate small group activities, perch among the trees, forage, orioles fly very fast, their flight golden plumage in the green bush in a wave shuttle, like a flash of gold, fleeting, very gorgeous, orioles mainly feed on insects, is a very famous agricultural and forestry beneficial bird, occasionally eat some plant fruits and seeds.
The call of the oriole is also very beautiful, not inferior to the lark, its call is like flowing clouds, the sound is similar to the clarinet in Western musical instruments, therefore, the oriole is also known as the "clarinet player", the oriole usually emits, quacking monophonic call, sometimes also make an "ah-er" call, the male oriole's call is gentle and changeable, crisp and pleasant, and the female oriole's call is much inferior. Most orioles are migratory and usually inhabit and breed in the northeast of the mainland, Inner Mongolia, North China and Sichuan in summer, and are local summer migratory birds, flying to India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and other places in late autumn and winter to winter, and orioles in mainland Taiwan and Hainan are resident birds and will not migrate elsewhere.
The oriole breeding period is generally in May to August every year, the oriole will now nest on the tall broad-leaved tree, its nest is very delicate, most of them are made of hemp, shredded paper, cotton wool, grass stems, etc., like a cup, usually the oriole lays 2-4 eggs per litter, and the hatching work is completed by the female bird's belly.
