Here is Liu Xiaoshun's Institute of Travel and Life.
A few years ago, I took a cruise around the South Pacific for 46 days and visited many countries in the South Pacific, which are relatively niche destinations, and I am still very impressed.
Not long after our cruise arrived in the Southern Hemisphere, its first stop was Honiara. To be honest, at first, I had no idea what Honiara was, and I was unfamiliar with the place name.
Later, I learned that Honiara was originally the capital of the Solomon Islands, a well-known island nation in the South Pacific with a key geographical location.
As soon as we stepped off the cruise, we saw the locals wearing masks to welcome us with traditional dances, which were both mysterious and funny.
Many Chinese tourists come to take photos with the dancers, but the locals don't seem to be familiar with the camera and don't know where to look, but they do have a very simple feeling.
Stepping out of the cruise terminal, we are officially in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands, how does it look like a small village?
I and a few other Chinese tourists continued to walk in the direction of the city center, and along the way we saw some small supermarkets, so we went in to buy a few bottles of water, and found that the owner of the small supermarket turned out to be Chinese and could use Chinese to communicate.
Next, we come to the "Central Market" of Honiara, the largest market in Honiara and the liveliest place in Honiara.
In fact, the environment of Honiara's "Central Market" is quite simple, it is built with a few large sheds at random, close to the sea, and when we first entered the market, we were still a little afraid.
Because the locals saw us and felt very new, and their expressions were more serious, we were afraid to look at them, and then I wanted to take a picture with them, and after communication, I found that they were actually quite friendly.
A group of local sisters from Honiara also specially beckoned me to take pictures with them to see how happy they were smiling when they took pictures, in fact, there are still many good people in the world, we don't have to be too afraid.
Although the capital city of Honiara may seem backward and the locals live in a relatively poor state, their streets and shops are colorful and colorful, making them perfect for photos.
Perhaps there is a cruise ship this big that docks in the port of Honiara, which can be seen almost all over the city, and the locals are curious about us, and passers-by always have to look back at us, as if we are being watched at any time.
I heard that in recent years, there have been some turmoil in the Solomon Islands, which is indeed very worrying, but when I travel, I feel that the local people are generally very kind and simple.
I believe that as long as everyone can communicate more, communicate more, understand more, reduce disputes, and do their best to spread more goodwill, this is probably the biggest meaning of travel, right?
At that time, it was almost the end of the year, it was winter in the northern hemisphere, but it was still hot summer in the southern hemisphere, and seeing Santa Claus on the streets in summer was also very new to me!
Unfortunately, the cruise only docked in Honiara for half a day, and after a quick tour of the capital city, we had to leave immediately, feeling that there were still many places to go.
So, have you ever visited the Solomon Islands? What are your impressions of the Solomon Islands? Did you know that the capital of the Solomon Islands is called Honiara?
If you have the opportunity in the future, would you like to visit the Solomon Islands? Apart from that, which South Pacific country would you like to visit? Welcome to leave a comment!
