Wang Yan is a 2021 Ph.D. graduate of the Department of Energy and Power Engineering of Tsinghua University, and will soon go to the Beijing Space Vehicle General Design Department of the Fifth Academy of Aerospace. The name of the Fifth Academy of Aerospace may not be well known to the public, but the core module of the "Tianhe-1" space station and the "Tianwen-1" Mars probe, which were often on the hot search before, must be familiar to people, and the general department of the Five Academies is the main unit that undertakes these scientific research tasks.
Making such a career choice seems to be the result of a quiet predestination more than a decade ago. Wang Yan has been an "enthusiast" of the country's aerospace and national defense career since he was a child, when he was in junior high school, every day during his lunch break, he would hold the aerospace magazine and read it obsessively, and whenever he saw that the country was still subject to people because it still lacked its own navigation system, he was always upset. Such simple and simple feelings also became his original intention to choose a power-related major and finally choose to go to the five hospitals for employment, and a seed of space service to the country took root in his heart.

When Baoyan entered Tsinghua University, Wang Yan chose to study under Professor Gu Chunwei, chief designer of the national two-engine special heavy gas turbine, hoping to play his own value in the field of aerospace power in the motherland. Wang Yan said that Mr. Gu always does his best to guide students, although he needs to work outside the campus for work reasons, but in order to keep the students' research topics from falling, Mr. Gu insists on one-on-one face guidance for all graduate students on weekend nights.

"Students who do not understand the Chinese Communist Party, after communicating with me, began to seriously consider moving closer to the organization and submitting an application to join the party; students who had a biased understanding of the development of the industry began to reconsider the future development prospects of the energy power industry after communicating with me, and finally chose to work in professional related fields, which made me feel a sense of value."
In order to be able to record each student's information more clearly and sort out his work ideas, after communicating with everyone every day, he always records the basic information and ideas exchanged with the students today at the first time when he returns to the office.
