The Tale of Genji Monogatari, a thousand-year-old love story

author:The autumn moon is like snow

The world's earliest novel, the 1,000-year-old Tale of Genji.

The most influential novel in Japanese history is the Tale of Genji, which has endured for thousands of years.

The word "Monogatari" originates from the Heian period in Japan and means story. The Tale of Genji, a story novel born 1,000 years ago in the Heian period, tells us the Japanese style of a thousand years ago and the love story that has been passed down for thousands of years with a kind of aristocratic magnificence, aesthetic "material sorrow", and the grandeur of historians. In 1010, "The Tale of Genji" was written, and in the following 300 years, there was "Divine Comedy", in 600 years there was "Hamlet", and in 700 years there was "Dream of the Red Chamber", which was advanced and grand, and made the Japanese nation proud for a full ten centuries.

The reading experience of this "The Tale of Genji" is different from the reading experience of China's classical novel "Dream of the Red Chamber". The first forty-four episodes of The Tale of Genji are mainly a love story featuring the Light Source clan and many women surrounding him. This seems to be more abusive. The last ten times are mainly based on the love story of Kaoru, the son of the Guangguang clan and his grandson Prince Kushi, who are nominally the son of the Hikari clan. The last ten times were known as the "Uji Ten Stickers". Personally, I think that after reading it ten times, I can experience the illusion of love more.

The scene of the story shifts to Uji, far away from Kyoto. The Eighth Prince built a Uji-san mansion in Uji. He has a reputation as a "lay monk", which makes Kaoru, who has a heart for the Buddha, admire him very much, and personally visitSoon Uji Mountain Villa to study. The more times he came, kaoru became more convinced of the essence of the Eight Princes' Dharma, so he gradually became acquainted with the Eight Princes. Late one night in late autumn, Kaoru, who visited the Eighth Prince, was attracted by a beautiful piano sound, peeked through the bamboo fence door to see the two daughters of the Eighth Prince, Kaoru Jun took in the style of the two women, saw the gentle and feminine faces of the sisters, heard their elegant dialogue, and Kaoru Jun had a deep admiration.

Sometimes in the middle of the bright moon, under the stars, the fishing fires of three or two show that the fishing boats on the water are still running for their livelihood. Kaoru looked at this scene at Uji Mountain Villa, lamenting the illusion of the fisherman's career, and at the same time realizing that the lives of the people in the world were also illusory. Xiang Buddha's willingness to become a monk, his admiration for the eldest princess, and the vague glimpse of his own strange life, intertwined and complex thoughts made Kaoru jun can't help but have a sense of impermanence.

Later, the eldest princess deeply felt that the man's heart was uncertain, and she did not dare to accept Kaoru's love and committed suicide. What a deep regret this Kaoru's heart! When I read about this place, my heart was also full of emotions. In fact, Kaoru is a man who is deep and single-minded about love.

The most beautiful love chapter of this "The Tale of Genji" is at the back of the Uji Ten Stickers. Perhaps, the most beautiful love is to end with regret!
