Due to the differences in origin, natural conditions and human environment, they all have their own styles and characteristics. Yaoundé is located in the hilly region of the Central Plateau, where the mountains overlap and the city has seven peaks above 700 altitudes. The highest peak in the north of the city, Montfibe Hill, is 950 meters. The scenery is charming and attracts tourists from all over the world all year round. The northern cities are mostly Islamic cities, while the southern cities have the characteristics of modern European cities, and their suburbs retain their simple village form. The cities in Adamawa are mostly fortress-style castle cities. The cities built by the Forbert and Hausa tribes had larger markets in the city centers for the inhabitants to trade. The west of the city is a residential area, the east is a commercial area, and the eastern suburbs are an industrial area. There is an international airport. It houses the University of Yaoundé, the Institut Pasteur of Cameroon, the National Library, archives and many educational, research, press, publishing and other institutions, as well as the Museum of the Negro Museum.
