Is it professionalization or commercialization? From Chinese football to basketball, what's wrong?

When it comes to football and basketball, we used to be proud of the start of professional leagues. But slowly, more and more people are discovering that with the deepening of professional sports in China, the team's performance in the Olympic Games and major competitions is getting worse and worse.

Professionalism brings only deep commercialization, but in other fields, there are too many unprofessional things. From the shelling of the Chinese Football Association in Wuhan Three Towns to the withdrawal of Xinjiang Guanghui from the CBA, the question has become the answer that too many people want to know.

01. The more professional the worse: the only real depth is commercialization

a. Professionalization does not equal gold yuan: the youth training system has been disrupted

Chinese football has been professionalized since 94 and has had a successful story. The problem is that the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea was essentially the group of players cultivated before professionalization, and after the baptism of the professional league, they have been more improved and improved (whether it is the introduction of foreign aid, the habit of the home-and-away atmosphere, or the influx of foreign coaches and players staying abroad).

But when the "elite players" trained by that group of junior sports schools age, we will find that the professional training mechanism has led to no successors.

Especially in the previous 10 years of Golden Yuan football, major clubs did not have the patience to devote themselves to the slow growth of youth training, and were keen to throw money and rob people.

Originally talented young people will also lose their normal heart because they became rich overnight, fail to temper themselves solidly, are unwilling to give up high salaries, go out to stay in the ocean, and lose the opportunity to go to a higher level.

When the epidemic hit and the gold yuan receded, Chinese football instantly became "naked swimming". What has been left behind in the past 10 years?

Some people say that "neutral names" hinder the motivation of gold owners to burn money, the question is if no one burns money, what is left of the Super League? So what is the point of burning money?

b. Professionalization becomes commercialization: it's all business

In sports circles, there is actually a saying: talent comes out of poor places. Because the poorer the place, the less recreational activities there are, and the higher the enthusiasm of young people for sports.

At the same time, because there are not many options for poverty alleviation, focusing on sports will also be a good way for a group of young people to change their lives.

So when the Brazilian president vigorously promoted industrialization, a large group of young people walked into the factory from the street, but gave the youth training system of Brazilian football a fatal blow.

The result of excessive commercialization will not bring about a boost in strength. The Chinese men's football team is getting farther and farther away from the World Cup, and the Chinese men's basketball team missed the Olympic Games for the first time in 36 years.

Compared with Chinese football, basketball has a better fan base and the ball market will be much more popular, but even so, the team's combat effectiveness is not as good as it was then.

After all, the purpose of investors is never to do sports well, and interests are their demands.

It is also for this reason that any football and basketball driven by gold dollars will always make too many compromises in order to achieve commercial goals, and even go against the original intention.

02. Failure to professionalize management: contradictions continue to break out at any time

a. The root cause of the conflict between the Xinjiang team and Zhou Qi: Is it a management mistake?

On the stage of the CBA, when Guangdong poached a number of youth talents from Liaoning, it was not only harmful to Northeast basketball, but also affected the growth of Nanyue's own seedlings.

This is the inevitable impact of entering the professional stage, and how we should face it has become a problem. The original intention of the "top salary priority renewal right" may be to protect the club rooted in youth training, but the result has slowly changed, and it is also the cause of the outbreak of the conflict between Zhou Qi and the Xinjiang team.

Because the Xinjiang men's basketball team was involved in illegal operations, Zhou Qi finally "won the lawsuit" in the Chinese Basketball Association. As a result, the Xinjiang men's basketball team chose to withdraw from the CBA, and at the same time issued an announcement, pointing the finger at the basketball association's "management and office are not divided".

The problem is that operational irregularities, even non-compliance, exist objectively. The unprofessionalism of management is also clear at a glance. If unprofessional management is required and non-compliant operations are allowed because of this, is it another joke that does not solve the problem?

A similar situation also occurred in Chinese football, when the three towns in Wuhan issued a statement that there were "dark forces" in the Chinese Football Association, which once attracted widespread attention.

After all, there is nothing wrong with punishing Malcom itself, the problem is that there is indeed a problem with the football association. So when someone refutes this, as a law enforcer, he has no confidence and even loses credibility.

b. There is too much "helplessness" in the sports world

On the road to professionalization, Chinese sports have encountered two problems, one is that professionalization has become commercialization, and the other problem is that the division of interests brought about by human feelings and worldliness is constantly sorted out.

Taking the Chinese women's football team competing in the Tokyo Olympics as an example, why is there so much controversy in player selection? It is because at the National Games after the Olympic Games, there will be Olympic federations. If the team wins the championship, the player's province and city will receive 1 gold medal at the National Games.

This has led to the fact that after the injury of the women's international footballer, the replacement of the injured player must be a player from the original province or city. Such an "unwritten" rule will inevitably lead to a decline in the team's combat effectiveness.

03. Professionalization requires more drastic reforms: the question is patience?

a. Men's basketball team's poor record: The youth growth cycle takes time

After Yao Ming became the chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, he did implement some work, which opened up a new situation for the youth training system and talent training of Chinese basketball.

Once the CBA draft was just a show, now more and more college players are entering the CBA and gradually gaining a foothold. The CUBAL league is also getting a lot of attention, and things are moving towards a virtuous circle.

Unknowingly, the quality of college players has been able to surpass the youth training of some weak teams and become one of the choices of the league's "source of soldiers".

The development of "campus basketball" will bring a larger market and more employment options, and will also increase China's basketball population, which is a good thing in the long run.

However, with the retirement of the former "Great Wall of Mobile" one after another, the golden generation of Chinese basketball will find that the strength of the current team is indeed at a low point after becoming managers.

Missing the Olympics was a decline in strength, with the Asian Cup finishing eighth due to injuries and the absence of several main players. But the problem is that if you can't prove yourself with good results in the short term, it may be difficult for previous reforms to be recognized, and there is a possibility that the foundation laid before will be completely overturned.

b. A big problem with football basketball: They're not here to give fans an explanation

Whether it is the Chinese Football Association or the Chinese Basketball Association, there is a problem, that is, many people are not trying to give fans an explanation.

Even if you want to do something at the beginning, but really "enter the circle", you can't help yourself.

Even in Europe, where football culture and heritage are the most solid, even if the fans' love for football is heartfelt, they still can't stop things from slowly changing.

The purpose of many giant clubs to promote the European Super League is obviously not for the development and prosperity of football, and "dragon slayer boy turns into evil dragon" does not just exist in fairy tales.

Conclusion:

After all, if you want to achieve something, you may need performance support in the short term, and all aspects of the relationship need to be maintained and compromised.

Problems don't form overnight, and the longer they pass, the harder it becomes for later generations to make changes. Professionalization began in 1994, and it really can't escape these problems, the key is to see if you can make up your mind to face it head-on.
