The white-faced heron (Egretta novaehollandiae) is a species of bird in the genus Egretta in the family Peliformidae. The white-faced heron is a medium-sized wading bird found in the Pacific Islands, east of Wallace and west of Papua New Guinea, including Sulawesi in Indonesia, Nusa Tenggara Islands, the Southwest Islands, the Moluccas, Australia and New Zealand.
