The Natural Rehabilitation Hospital located in Andalus, Kuwait, is a designated hospital for the Chinese medical team to assist Kuwait. Here, medical workers from China serve the local people, spread the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, and contribute to the development of China-Kuwait relations with the benevolence of the hot doctors.

Dong Jeongjian is a member of the 23rd batch of medical teams in China, from the Children's Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine in Jilin. This is her second year as a member of the medical team. On September 18, 2021, she came to Kuwait for the first time with the 22nd batch of medical teams to carry out TCM diagnosis and treatment assistance with her colleagues. At the end of her one-year term, she chose to stay.

"We usually mainly provide acupuncture, tuina, cupping and other TCM diagnosis and treatment services for local patients, and at other times we also hold some free medical activities for Chinese-funded institutions and Chinese compatriots stationed in China." Dong Jeongje told reporters that many Kuwaiti patients have a high degree of recognition of traditional Chinese medicine technology, and many patients are interested in China and hope to visit China in the future.

Chinese medical staff use exquisite technology and meticulous care to deepen the understanding and trust of local patients in TCM. Tina, 61, is an old friend of the Chinese medical team. Because she suffers from Sjogren's syndrome, since 2019, she has regularly come to the TCM clinic every year for acupuncture, tuina and other treatments. She said that since receiving TCM treatment, her physical pain has been significantly relieved. In the past 4 years, she has forged a deep friendship with medical staff from China. "I am very grateful to the Chinese doctors in Kuwait, their skills are very good." Tina said.

In the interview, head nurse Kong Deyu told reporters that more and more Kuwaiti patients are now coming here to receive TCM treatment. "The foreign medical team can not only provide local medical and health assistance, but also contribute to the friendship between China and Kuwait."

The mainland sent its first medical teams to Kuwait in 1976. At present, the medical team is the 23rd batch sent by China and the 15th batch sent by Jilin Province. Over the past 40 years, China has sent 239 medical teams to Kuwait, receiving more than 800,000 medical services.

Chen Chunhai, captain of China's 23rd batch of medical aid teams, said: "We will continue to uphold the Chinese aid spirit of fearless hardship, willing to dedicate, save lives and help the wounded, and love boundlessly, serve the local people and promote China-Kuwait friendship with superb medical skills, noble medical ethics, and a serious and responsible attitude." ”

As the only Chinese medical team in the Gulf region, groups of Chinese medical experts came to Kuwait to protect lives with their professionalism and responsibility, become a bridge connecting the friendship between the Chinese and Kuwaiti peoples, and contribute Chinese strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind and improving human health and well-being.
