27 years ago, a taxi driver was killed late at night
At about 7:00 p.m. on February 3, 1993, Liu Zhen (then 19), a taxi driver in Chengguan Town (Anfu Street), Linli County, drove a taxi with a license plate of Hunan 36-70626 and sent two men and a woman to Wangjiachang Town, Li County.
At about 10 o'clock that night, Liu Zhen's mother saw that her son had not returned for a long time, so she launched a search for relatives and friends along the way. At about 11:00 p.m., Liu Zhen's rental jeep was found abandoned on the side of the road in Jiuligang Village, the former Jiuli Township (now Carved Wood Mountain Township) in Linli County. At about 14:00 the next day, Liu Zhen's body was found in the rapeseed field of Jiuligang Village, former Jiuli Township, Linli County. In addition to grief, Liu Zhen's family immediately went to the police station to report to the police.
After receiving the report, the police immediately reported to the leadership and carried out investigation. The on-site investigation police extracted trace physical evidence at the scene; the investigation and visiting police confirmed that the two men and a woman who rented Liu Zhen's taxi on the day of the crime were suspected of committing a major crime through a large number of investigations and visits, and fled to the north of Hubei after the crime. In order to strive to capture all three criminal suspects involved in the case, on July 20, 2020, Yun Jie, deputy director of the Linli County Public Security Bureau, and Fan Hua, deputy head of the criminal investigation detachment of the Changde City Public Security Bureau, led 18 members of the special case team to Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, and other places to conduct investigation and control, and prepare to close the net.
With the strong support of the local police, the special case team successfully arrested the criminal suspect Chen Yumou on July 23.

On July 26, after analysis and judgment, the special case team seized the criminal suspect Chen Baimou in Baiyun District of Guangzhou City, and found out that another criminal suspect in the case, Zhang Mouling, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and served a sentence in Hankou Prison in Hubei Province. On August 1, the police went to Hankou Prison to escort Zhang Mouling back to Linli for retrial.
