In November 1914, the Ottoman Empire joined the Allies at the instigation of Germany. Soon the Ottoman Empire assembled an expeditionary force of 150,000 troops deep into the Caucasus Mountains, intending to seize the Transcaucasian region of Tsarist Russia.
But the endless mountains and the harsh climate made the expeditionary force miserable, and many people were tortured to death by disease without even seeing the face of the Russian army. Not surprisingly, the Turkish army was defeated by the Russian army in the Caucasus. In order to save his own face, the Turkish Minister of War openly slandered the Armenians for sending information to the Russian army, which led to the defeat of the Turkish army.
The Armenians at that time did not expect that this slander would become a prelude to the massacre. Soon, the Ottoman rulers ordered the expulsion of the Armenians from the army, followed by massacres in Armenian settlements.
Armenian men were caught one by one, and the brutal Turkish army shot them or buried them alive, and the Turkish army commander stipulated that if Armenians dared to resist, even children would be killed. The cruelty of these Turkish troops is comparable to that of the Japanese army that invaded China, and if you look at it as our war of resistance against Japan, you will understand why Armenia hates Turkey to the bone.
