On the morning of July 21, the press conference of "Thinking into the Water and Clouds - Zhao Qin's Solo Exhibition" was held at jinling art museum. The exhibition is divided into series such as "Cloud Mountain", "Deep Sea", "Dark Night" and other series, exhibiting more than 100 new Chinese paintings by Zhao Qin in the past two years, which has a distinct academic nature. Once exhibited, it has received the attention and affirmation of many professionals.

Due to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, Zhao Qin, who had just returned from collecting wind from other places, could not come to the scene.

Zhao Qin graduated from Nanjing Academy of arts, central academy of fine arts and Nanjing University, and is currently the deputy editor of Nanjing University Press, and has taught at the China Academy of Art, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the China Book Court. Zhao Qin studied under Jia Youfu, Nie Weigu and other famous masters. The works in this exhibition not only reflect the context of the teacher's inheritance, but also reflect some of the painter's new artistic thinking and breakthrough practices in recent years.

Literati painting has always been soft and light, and in the dark and deep picture to maintain the literati interest and book atmosphere has a certain challenge, Zhao Qin made a bold attempt in this regard. This series of works also reflects Zhao Qin's inheritance of his mentor Jia Youfu, as well as a certain aesthetic interest in the more far-reaching traditions of Gong Xian, Huang Binhong, Li Keyan, etc., and his new attempts at graphic techniques. These works visually jump out of the general visual experience, giving people a relatively new aesthetic feeling, and the viewer can appreciate a lot of profound sharpness and interest hidden in the picture. Although these plate series are not similar, it can still be felt that there is a spiritual main line that originates under the deep humanistic observation in the exhibition hall. This series of works is not only the practical achievement of Zhao Qin at this stage, but also an important stepping stone for the artist's long-term development in the future.

Zhao Qin
Born in Nanjing in 1969. In 1992, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts with a bachelor's degree. In 2002, he graduated from the postgraduate class of landscape majoring in the Department of Chinese Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He later obtained a master's degree from Nanjing University. In 2013, he completed his studies in Creative Design at the University of Kingston, London, UK. He is currently the deputy editor of Nanjing University Press, and a researcher of the Institute of Oriental Image Culture of Nanjing University. Special painter of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Chinese Painting and Special Painter of Nanjing Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. He is appointed as an associate professor at the Graduate School of the China Academy of Arts and a standing director of the Jia Youfu Research Association of Peking University. At the same time, he also teaches at the Jia Youfu Landscape Painting Advanced Research Class of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the China Book Court, and the Overseas Education College of Nanjing University.
