I am a manga lover, and when I see manga works, I always can't help but turn them over, and I buy them back if I like them. This "Wood Count" is a national comic that I think is worth buying home.

There are only two reasons why it is worth buying home, first, the storyline is good, and second, the style of painting is what I like.
On the first point, this book is adapted from the novel "An encounter with Chinese in China" by the famous French writer Jules Verne. Jules Verne is known as the "father of science fiction" and has written many adventure novels such as "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea". I also bought Verne's complete works for my children. "An encounter Chinese in China" is verne's only story that takes place all over China, although it is not a fantasy work, it is a very comedic adventure legend, and it is also suitable for parent-child reading with children.
This story is about a rich second generation named Jin Fu during the Republic of China period, who mistakenly thought he was bankrupt and bought a killer to kill himself. It turns out that bankruptcy was a misunderstanding, but the killer couldn't find it. So Jin Fu had to flee from the killer and suffered a lot. Finally, I finally understood that the peaceful life that I had been bored with was the happiness that was most worth cherishing.
When I read this story, I felt that the plot was a bit familiar, as if Chen Peisi had starred in a "Young Master's Ordeal" before, and there was a similar plot. I went to check it out, and sure enough, "The Young Master's Ordeal" was also adapted from "The Encounter of a Chinese in China". This movie used to be one of my favorite movies from my childhood, and it was a must-see every time it was shown on TV.
The plot of "The Young Master's Ordeal" is slightly different from this "Wood Count", which should be adapted. Obviously, it is still a bit difficult to shoot a background film such as "FanMu Ji" from Guangzhou across Shanghai, Nanjing, and Beijing. But the comedic essence of both has not changed, and both show Verne's original work very well.
The second point is about the painting style. I came from a fine arts background, and the requirements for drawing are still relatively high. Before talking about the style of this comic, let's mention the book's screenwriter, Julian Moka. Julian Moka is a Professional French Comic Book Screenwriter, so the storyboard of this comic is very similar to the French comic I watched before, Black Water Lilies. It can be seen that this is a work that is biased towards the European comic style.
Illustrator Wang Jing, comic book author signed by Manga Legends. I hadn't seen Wang Jing's work before. Judging from this "Wood Count", Wang Jing's painting style is rigorous, the proportion of characters is accurate, and the scene depiction is fine, and he is a very serious painter.
Because this comic work is a comedy work, Wang Jing often uses exaggerated facial expressions to show a witty comedic effect in the drawing of characters in this work. This style of comedy is also infused with The European comedy comic style.
Scene drawing is also a highlight of this comic. This work spans many scenes, from several major cities to the sea, deserts, and interspersed with representative buildings of major cities. Wang Jingdu has done a very good job, which is really touching for me to see.
The road to the development of Guoman has been twisting and turning, and now the development is getting better and better, but there are more people who want to make quick money. I often see some chinese comic works with good intentions, but even the basic proportions of characters are not good to draw, and it is really embarrassing to print such works.
If every national comic work can be as serious as "The Wood Plan", then I believe that more people will love the national comic works and collect the national comic works.
I was going to buy this book to read with my son. Watching the classic works adapted from comics with children can not only make children's impression of classic works more intuitive and more interested in reading, but also let children know what is a good comic and be influenced by beauty.
