As the only animated film in this period that is mainly aimed at young audiences, the box office of "Bear Haunting Metamorphosis" (534 million yuan as of the beginning of the New Year) has set a new high for the series of films, and is expected to eventually exceed 600 million yuan.
However, as the fifth part of the series, despite the steady progress in special effects, the script has gradually shown its decadence. 2017's "Bear Haunting Fantasy Space", although the plot "crash" "Princess Mononoke" is slightly serious, fortunately it is coherent and smooth. "Bear Haunting , Metamorphosis " is a fragmented plot, a hammer in the east and a stick in the west, a variety of themes are mixed together, seemingly all-encompassing, but in fact, it is not transparent, used to fool children to have fun, and it is inevitable that the parents who accompany the watch will be like sitting on a needle felt.

The title of the film ,Metamorphosis is somewhat inaccurate, and a more appropriate title could borrow from the 2017 Hollywood film Downsizing. Compared with the previous works in the series, the use of the original IP in "Bear Haunting Metamorphosis" is further weakened, and the bald head is strong, the bear is large, and the bear is basically unrelated to the animated short film. Most of the scenes of The Big Bear and the Two Brothers of the Bear are not a problem with the exchange. The script of the whole movie seems to be created independently of the original IP, and then the roles are assigned bluntly. The newly added characters, whether they are bald fathers, eggshell men, or foreign female journalists who pursue environmental protection issues, are also perfunctory like labeled flat characters, only responsible for promoting the plot, not responsible for character shaping.

The film can basically be seen as the parallel and intersection of three plot lines: the father-son emotional scene between Bald Qiang and his father; the microscopic world adventures of Bald Qiang, Xiong Da, Xiong Er and Eggshell Man; and all the environmental defense war fighting scenes of all the characters who appear. In addition to the plot line of Microworld Adventures, which can still be seen in the filmmaker's new tree in special effects technology, the other two plot lines are extremely embarrassing. The script of father-son affection, the route of the warm sketch, slides into the abyss of sensationalism, and forcibly gives the audience eye drops.

"Bear Haunting, Metamorphosis" is not a thriving feature of the Spring Festival animation film market, but a "tiger in the mountains, monkeys are the king" of relying on the old and selling the old and relying on IP to eat IP. Compared with several young animation films in the summer of 2017, such as "Big Ear Tutu's Food Rhapsody", "Dou Fu Chuan" and "Atang Adventure", "Bear Haunting Metamorphosis" is far inferior in grasping the current parent-child family life situation, inheriting and innovating China's localization animation plastic arts, and introducing and applying the latest computer-produced animation technology.
As a series of animated films, "Bear Haunting Metamorphosis" is content to stick to both market advantages and far less than "Kunta Reversed Planet" in the 2017 National Day schedule. The audience is willing to continue to buy tickets to enter, but it is forced to have no choice but to "just need".

The domestic animation film market seems to be a "red sea" (according to the 1905 film network, as many as 56 domestic animation movies were released in 2017), in fact, the vast world has a lot to do. The "Bear Haunting" series may be able to eat the old book for a few more years, but if you continue to take the route of chaos stew, abuse and overdraft the audience's trust and expectations, wait until the new animated movies are also squeezed into the Spring Festival slot, a crab is not as good as a crab's "Pleasant Goat" animated movie series, which is not a distant lesson for the "Bear Haunting" series.
