Creatively, most animation ideas are provided by a studio think tank or an animation veteran. There are very few cartoons that are driven from the early stages of preparation by the voice actors who voice the film. But in 2002, comedian Adam Sandler created a family animated film, Eight Crazy Nights, in which he was involved from conception to production and dubbing, except for not showing his face. Just a decade later, he brought us again the Same Way, Elf Hostel, a comedy film that was a global box office success, with 58 percent of the $358 million in total revenue coming from overseas markets. There is no doubt that this does have the potential to become a decent animated series.

Gendy Tartagovsky's Elf Hostel features Count Dracula, voiced by Adam Sandler, a vampire and a single father who built a five-star monster hotel, the Elf Hostel, to protect his beloved daughter Mavis (voiced by Selena Gomez) from human harm, but when an alien young traveler, Johnny, discovers the hotel and the lovely Mavis. Dracula begins to do everything in his power to prevent his daughter and young man Johnny (voiced by Andy Samberg) from falling in love...

The Elf Hostel has a large number of well-equipped rooms, and its tenants include a variety of strange characters, including mummies, Frankensteins, werewolves, and stealths, who are free to be themselves and show their true side as monsters. But in fact, they are much more than we think. In the latest sequel film, Elf Hostel 2, these characters will return to us again, and there will be new characters who will appear, telling the story that takes place seven years after the story of the previous episode, Mavis and Johnny have a child, and Dracula becomes a grandfather.

At the "Sony Summer" event in Cancun, Mexico, Sony revealed the latest news about "Elf Hostel 2", as well as some movie details. The director and producer also brought us 15 minutes of unfinished footage. The film is almost finished, except for some final shading and shading. They then answered reporters' questions, excerpted below:

Q: Is there anything we can expect from this sequel?

Director: We want all the characters who were loved by the audience in the previous episode to return, and we're also introducing some other interesting new characters. We will see Dracula's upbringing, including his relationship with his father Vlad. Vlad is a very conservative and stereotypical vampire, and Mel Brooks will voice the character. At first we were very unsure how he would do his job, as Mr. Brooks was approaching the age of 90. But he was really resourceful and generous and energetic. He added a whole new dimension to the film. In addition, Johnny's parents in the film also have many stories. Megan Morale and Nick Overman will play them, and they are also a real-life couple. Obviously, this movie will focus on the meeting between the parents of both sides, and there are many jokes in the process. There is also a particularly interesting plot in this movie, Where Dracula and his monster friends try to inspire the "monster" side of his little grandson Dennis, and Dracula goes through many interesting twists and turns in order to make Dennis more like a vampire than a human. Of course we can't reveal more.

Q: Because it's a sequel movie, Elf Hostel 2 will have a lot of the same settings and hotel views as the previous episode, but it does add some new visual elements. Will there be any different visual experience compared to the previous episode?

Director: Believe it or not, a lot of the inspiration comes from the colour films of the 1950s, and we wanted to show a Gothic environment, but it wasn't very scary, which meant that there would be a lot of bright, very varied colors, and we extended that idea to the darkness that we depicted. Although many scenes are dark, we don't want to look too dark, so many night scenes are dark blue, which is often used in old color movies.

Q: This film tells the story of how humans and monsters learn to get along. Is it possible to think that the theme of "diversity" of species is something you would like to express?

Director: I think so. Change is part of our culture, really. I think most of the time in people's minds there is acceptance of this difference, so I think we have to reflect that in our films as well.

Producer: It's true that Dracula in the first film is coming out of fear, and we're going to revisit that here, including Dracula's character and the role of his father Vlad.
