A factory using coal that emits an unpleasant odor near the village of Lödhthong in Wallon Township, Tachili township, eastern Shan State, Myanmar, was ordered to suspend operations.

One local said that because the factory often emits a foul smell, both locals and people on the Thai border can smell the pungent smell. When the above-mentioned person in charge went to the site inspection, he found that the factory had no ownership rights to the land and could not present the relevant documents for opening the factory, so he was ordered to suspend operations.

People living near the factory said it was not known how long the plant would need to close. Although the factory has been ordered to suspend operations, the surrounding people can still smell the pungent smell.

A member of the Walloon village management said that if the factory is reorganized, no longer emits a pungent smell and the relevant documents are completed, it will be able to continue operating in the future. Now, although the factory is temporarily suspended, the smell will last for about a week. We have no intention of attacking the business of any local people.

The pungent smell of the factory, located in a village in the city of Tachili on the Myanmar-Thailand border, had reached the Thai side, so the Thai government called the Myanmar government and asked it to check it out.
