Official: Slovak winger Weiss returned to join Bratislava

On February 18, Slovakia's giants Bratislava FC officially announced that 30-year-old winger Vladimir Weiss joined the team on a free transfer and signed a six-month contract.

Weiss debuted in the Manchester City academy and played in 5 games for the team, scoring 1 goal and giving 1 assist. In the summer of 2011, Weiss joined Espanyol on loan and played for the team for one season, contributing 4 goals and 5 assists. Since then, Weiss has played for Pescara in Italy, Olympiacos in Greece, Duhele in Qatar and Galafa.

In 2010, Weiss competed in Slovakia's first World Cup, when the team manager officially became his father. He played 3 games for the team and reached the round of 16 with the team.

In the summer of 2016, he participated in the first European Championship in the history of the team. In the match between Slovakia and Russia, he scored a goal and delivered an assist to help the team beat their opponents 2-1 to win the European Championship for the first time, and became the first goal scorer in the history of the tournament to play in the Asian League.

In the fall of 2018, Weiss announced his indefinite withdrawal from the national team due to conflicts with the current manager. He played a total of 66 games for Slovakia, scoring seven goals.
