The queens in British history are usually more bizarre, and one of them is famous for "Bloody Mary".
Mary was the only child of the House of Tudor monarch, known as Henry VIII the "Madman of the Pits," and his first wife, Queen Catherine of Aragon. Henry VIII is a very famous but very poor character in British history, and has married six wives in his life, but except for the last wife, the other wives have a bad end, two of which were personally ordered by Henry VIII to behead. Mary's own mother was lucky, but she was also snubbed.
When Mary became an adult, she was very disgusted with her father. After the death of Henry VIII, his only son, Edward VI, died at the age of 15, although he succeeded to the throne, so that the crown temporarily fell on Mary's head. She was very disgusted with her father's Protestantism, and after taking the throne, she decided to restore Catholicism (the old religion) as the state religion, and persecuted and purged Protestants, and once burned about 300 Protestants at the stake, which intensified religious contradictions in England, and thus promoted the title of "Bloody Mary" (to some extent, this was also a kind of liquidation of her by Protestants).
But Mary was actually a poor person too.
In order to consolidate the throne, she had always aspired to have children, but repeatedly failed (her sister Elizabeth I also had no children for the rest of her life, which may also be a genetic problem). She experienced fake pregnancy twice (a condition in which she was pregnant despite the appearance of pregnancy), which only proved that she was eager and stressed.
On November 17, 1558, at the age of 42, Mary died of illness, leaving the throne to her half-sister, Elizabeth I (nicknamed the Virgin Queen).
