"This dinosaur fossil was found somewhere in Xinjiang in 2003, and in 2008 we officially started the excavation of the fossil, and it was not until 2011 that we brought all the fossils found back to the museum." Wang Xiaobing told reporters that because the initial conditions for mounting were not available, and the fossils that had just been excavated also needed to be placed for a period of time to start mounting, the mounting work did not really begin until 2016. "The process of mounting is also very time-consuming, we need to repair each fossil, which is a very meticulous work, completely manual operation."

Established in 2016, the Chongzhou Tianyan Museum is the only non-state-owned nature museum in Chengdu that mainly displays fossils of paleontology. The museum covers a total area of 24,000 square meters, with a construction area of 16,000 square meters, a total exhibition hall area of 10,649 square meters, and the overall exhibition hall adopts the form of warehousing exhibition display, which is divided into the first exhibition hall of the life evolution exhibition and the second hall of the large-scale paleontological fossil exhibition. The exhibits mainly include paleontological fossils, rock and mineral specimens, and specimens of current animals and plants, and the precious collection spans billions of years, with a complete sequence and excellent quality, many of which are unique in China.
