According to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) reported on the 8th, the manager of an aquarium in Louisiana, usa, said that on Tuesday local time, a giant python about 3.6 meters long slipped away from the aquarium. For this reason the aquarium was forced to close, and the guards were looking for the missing python.
The Blue Zoo Aquarium in Baton Rouge stressed that the python named "Carla" was not poisonous, but chose to activate the museum's first-level lockdown to find it.
The zoo said in a statement: "Although we have created a very safe home for our Burmese python Kara, it has slipped out of the exhibition hall ... Carla is a non-venomous, friendly snake that enjoys interacting with guests on our snake education programs. Carla is a beloved member of our Blue Zoo family. Animal safety is of paramount importance to us, so to ensure Carla's safety, we are suspending business today. ”
The aquarium is a two-story facility built inside a Louisiana mall, but administrators said Carla did not enter any of the stores.
A local fire department spokesman said: "They believe the animal has not left their cordon and it is still within the range of the 'Blue Zoo.'"
At around 10:20 a.m., firefighters received a call asking for assistance in the search. Although they didn't immediately find Carla, the firefighters were disbanded in less than two hours because aquarium staff believed they would be able to catch it.
Ronda Swanson, marketing director for the Blue Zoo Aquarium, said on Wednesday morning: "We still haven't found it yet, but we're searching day and night. We will continue to close our doors today. ”
