Early life
Graig was born in 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts. His father was a professor at Stanford University. Greg moved a lot as a child, and by the time he was 17 he had lived in 7 cities. He attended high school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Greg studied at Ohio Wesleyan University for two years before dropping out and moving to Manhattan. He has worked as a bartender, as a security guard at the Guggenheim Museum, and as a parking attendant at a restaurant. He later attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts to study drama and English, graduating in 1986.

Greg is best known for playing Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel films Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Captain Marvel (2019), and the TV spin-off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-2020).
Greg also voiced the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man (2012-2017), the video game Lego Marvel Super Heroes (2013), and Lego Marvel's Avengers (2016).

Greg is best known for playing FBI agent Mike Casper in the political drama The White House (2001–2004) and for playing Kristen Campbell's ex-husband Richard in the sitcom Pretty New Road (2006–2010).
He created the horror film Perilous (2000), and wrote and directed the black comedy Suffocation (2008) and the comedy Trust Me (2013). His films include The Adventures of Sebastianko (1998), An Hour of Fast Phases (2002), Big Company, Small Boss (2004), Call Horror (2006), 500 Days with Shamo (2009), Much Ado About Nothing (2012), Sex List (2013), Working Day (2013) and Life at Night (2016).
Personal life
In July 2001, Greg married actress Jennifer Gray; The couple co-starred in the TV movie "The Road to Christmas". They have a daughter, born on December 3, 2001.
Greg is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
